Every single time you go in the store, you get a different person who does not know what they’re doing and they give you a different answer for something. We go in to buy. Drainage pipe and WE have to walk all the way to the back into their yard to get it our self. Wow, you must ask because when we’re asking for help, they do not have enough sense to put it in the computer to look it up. After walking all the way to the back of the yard. Oh, this time they tell us we can’t drive around. Then we have to take it up front to pay. The next time we go, they don’t have enough sense to look it up on the computer so we have to walk out there again then they tell us to drive around to get it they always have a different story first they tell you that you can’t walk in a certain area. The next time they tell you can walk in a certain area. I think they make these things up as they go. When you’re trying to return something such as the drainage pipe, they will not let you leave it upfront they make you take your receipt. They come out verified in your truck then you have to drive it around back. Once you leave the yard, they have to check again. I don’t know what the hell they’re checking cause there’s nothing in the truck to check. They just look at a piece of paper and tell you to have a great day. Leave it get it checked come back in again and then they’re gonna give you your money back. Why can they not just do it in one swoop of you driving to the back and that person checking it off and then you go in the front why does it have to be so difficult? This should not be...
Read moreTerrible products and EVEN WORSE COSTUMER SERVICE. Purchased interior doors for a new build through their website after seeing the DOOR SLABS only in store. Well we ordered the doors a little prematurely, new build construction with some changes throwing our timeline around for install so they didn’t get opened right away. Well it came time to install the doors, after a couple months of them being in a cooled and dehumidified room, and upon installing the first door we noticed the awful quality of the jambs. After inspecting them all, they were total junk and not even usable, bowed, falling apart, bubbling, and not even paintable, the plastic film that we were under the impression was painted, nope just a thin plastic film, was easily piling off too. Menards wouldn’t budge on correcting the situation and would only give store credit AFTER taking a restock fee of course. So thanks to them we just lost almost 1900 due to their TERRIBLE quality of products and are now stuck having to purchase more of their product, aka junk product that they can’t even stand behind, with a lousy store credit. Do not waste a single dollar at this place, they are ok with selling junk and not standing by their product or making sure people get what they pay for. Also, yes we knew of the 25% restock fee for “custom order” but the only thing customized about the doors were changing the silver...
Read moreI find it odd that a hardware store does not allow people to Film video or take photos inside of their store. Asked management if I could possibly take a video for a class project where I needed to record myself purchasing the supplies I needed. Part of the project is recording video of buying the supplies. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was directed to customer service. When I arrived at customer service and went to speak to the manager, someone else stepped in and answered for him. She said it was against policy to record or take photos in all inside of the store. I clarified and said that I would be recording only myself picking out the products, it would ensure I did not film any staff or customers. She reiterated that I would be kicked out of the store if I took pictures or videos of any kind. I acknowledged the policy and left the store.
The question I have now is, do contractors who go into Menards and take photos or videos of the supplies they need for their construction sites get kicked out of the store because they would be violating this policy? Do people who go into the store to take photos or videos of supplies they might need for an upcoming project get kicked out of the store?
Went to Home Depot instead, and found the items I needed at a cheaper cost, and was allowed to record my journey in the process. Unfortunately, I will not be...
