This was my second time at this shop. I was there just shopping around today, and when I approached the counter to checkout, the owner took lead and started being a little passive aggressive about the price of the items I was buying , I saw this as negotiating but then it turned into a test of wit. I was uncertain about the pricing the items went for on a third-party market and then sought guidance from my significant other as to what a reasonable price would be. The owner shifted his focus to her and started speaking to her like a child. Being very passive-aggressive and dumbafying what he claimed to be his thoughts on a price point . I grew frustrated and said we would pass on the items and leave , he then immediately was pressing me about what I thought was " fair " I explained I bought similar items last time at a certain price I thought was fair . After several back and forth statements later of this ego filled passive aggressiveness, a price was agreed upon. I explained that I'm currently trying to adjust to society since I had just a few months back left the US Army after 4 years because I had thought maybe I was being oversensitive. He then shifted to explain pretty much that my service was nothing in comparison to his father's and be-littling my experiences. He was speaking to me as if he had served. Rather, he pivots his whole personality off of his father's legacy and service to our country on top of the ego . Flaunting his father accomplishment as if they were his own . I have never been spoken to in this way and nor will I allow this type of talk towards my significant other . The owner is what you'd call a snake in the grass or a wolf in sheep's clothing .

These are the nicest stores I've gone to and well worth the drive , these other stores far exceed what I'd expect from a store owner. Much better variety and customer support . Trust me .

Went there to check the place out after coming here once before and ended finding a few things that we wanted to get and walked up to the checkout counter, the first major red flag was the owner started quizzing me and my significant other and testing us about the items we were buying which is exactly what you don’t want when buying something. He claimed prices were negotiable but then continued to belittle us when we tried to make a fair offer and tried to get as much money out of us as possible, I suggested an offer and then he just acted like I was dumb and like my significant other was too. We tried to pass on everything and was just going to leave but instead he kept pressuring us and kept saying it’s a toy store you’re supposed to be happy but continued to keep trying to get us to buy the items. When he came to his senses and we agreed on a price his mood changed slightly and lit up a little or so we thought. My significant other mentioned how he just got out of the service and shared some of his experiences and he then continued to belittle his service and his 4 years spent in the army and then mentioned all the things his dad did in the service and acting like he has served himself while continuing to belittle him and ignore his experiences, at that point we were just trying to check out when also he continued to make some weird what I thought kind of sexist comment to me out of nowhere saying he wants to add a wine and cheese bar and calling me beautiful to my significant other. At that point we had paid and he ended up taking a phone call so we just walked out.

Will not be coming back, please go...

I have known Mark for over 30 years the owner of the store. You will not find a more knowledgeable individual on the face of the earth when it comes to RC planes RC cars RC Helicopters, RC Boats, Drones, BATTERIES, plastic models any type of model trains any type of train any gauge paints any type of paints decals any type of decals, Professional custom mold making, World War II history and memorabilia along with other theaters of war. ANY type of knowledge needed for any type of model making hobby or hobbyist need if you go anywhere else you’re selling yourself short before you give Branford hobbies a try.
