The Coffee Bean — Restaurant in Branford

This is everything a business should be and considering I am a coffee "snob", this far exceeds my expectations. Being named The Coffee Bean, it lives up to the name. The coffee is smooth with a rich flavor. I got the cardamom flavoring in a hot large coffee. Also, the owner invited me to try the Turkish coffee. My taste buds were leaping for joy. Also, it isn't bitter or harsh to the body. I appreciate high quality coffee beans. The bagels are AMAZING ! Again, the bagels are AMAZING! The pastries are fresh and the gourmet candy is incredible. Prices are decent too. I am a business owner looking for quality, cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. With its cozy inviting atmosphere, they check all the boxes. I would be amiss to not mention how the woman at the counter went above and beyond, both friendly and helpful. The owner also made sure to come behind the counter and assist with service kindly answering all my curious questions!! I couldn't be more excited to share this review and encourage YOU to visit...

Best espresso value in Branford, hands down.

Here's the deal: their espresso drinks are legitimately good and won't bankrupt you. While Dunkin' across the street runs a cattle operation, this place is blessedly empty. In, out, caffeinated n under three minutes.

The baristas treat everyone equally: politely indifferent. No forced small talk, no forced name butchering on cups, no pretense of friendship. Just competent coffee service. It's beautiful.

Lowly strip mall aesthetic says "we invested in beans, not Instagram moments." The espresso machine gets the love, not the decor. Priorities: correct.

The empty store is the entire point. Zero wait + quality coffee + fair prices = economic paradise. Let the masses queue elsewhere while I get superior product with zero friction.

Americana is only 1 shot for $4.50 AND NO heavy cream. This town has low standards for coffee if you rate almost 5 stars for one shot only espresso drinks. 2 is standard and most places offer larger sizes. Plus I first specifically asked if they have heavy cream and she said yes. Fortunately I thought to clarify, HEAVY cream. NOT half n half. Oh. In that case no. C’mon.🙄Glad I didn’t stand around waiting for one shot of espresso with milk in it. Sad. Next. I hope there’s better here.

Response to owner: I think that’s even more frustrating! Please retrain your employee. I’m now at Perkatory enjoying a large quadruple shot American with heavy cream for about the same cost as your small, but I would’ve preferred to not have to drive...
