Congratulations Tilson the employee who was so rude today you are in fact the weakest link in the Home Depot experience, and as a retail NSO team manager for many years you would be written up for your behavior.
An email came from Home Depot that my order was ready.
On Sunday we all waited to get into Home Depot. After a long wait in line I decided to take advantage of the curbside pickup which was also another long wait due to the memorial weekend. That was fine.
The young lady came out checked my ID to match her order slip and I waited some more.
Then she came out sweating and said I'm sorry for the wait but i can't find a cart and the door is really big and heavy.
I said door?
My order was for a window. After going in and out she found that they pulled the wrong item and had my information on it.
She apologized and said we made a mistake. Whoever pulled your order pulled the wrong item. I told her it's fine I understood and she asked that I could wait to find out what to do. After waiting even more she asked if I could come back in a few days. I said sure.
Days later another email came from Home Depot that my order is ready. I called the store to verify that it was not a auto email and that the door was actually replaced with my already paid for window.
Insert TILSON... After explaining to TILSON the reason for my call and that I'd like to verify that my order was correct before coming out to pick it up. He took it upon himself to be unbelievable rude. I explained again in a more aggressive tone that Home Depot made a mistake and I was already there and that I can be there to get the item just want to make sure it is the correct item.
It wasn't until after he told me, "whatever you ordered is whatever is here", that I said I need to speak to your manager and what is your name. He didn't respond. I said what is your name and I'll hold for a manager. He put me on hold for so long that I started getting dressed.
Then his co-worker decided she would pick up and clearly she was going to come to TiLSON'S rescue because she came on the phone with an attitude as well (and you can hear TILSON in the back ground going off)
I explained to her the same thing I told TILSON before and ask what was the employees name and I would like to speak to the manager. She said what employee. I said the same one in the back ground going off. She said I'll put you on hold for a manager (never gave me his name)
Finally 4mins later a manager came on Krissy or Chrissy ( depending on how she spells it) And she sounds annoyed.
I explained to her, what I explained to TILSON and his co-worker who came to rescue him that he was rude and I asked for the associate's name. Krissy she told me his name was TILSON. Then she asked me to hold so she can check.
And sure enough the item was still a door. After that her tone change because she then saw that the item was still a door. Then she began to explain (aka cover herself) she wasn't on shift on Sunday when I was there for the first pickup and that no one told her or else she would have fixed it before today. She took my name and verified my phone number and said I will look into it now and call you right back. I even told her I was going to make a complaint about TILSON and she said that's fine.
Krissy as a leader your job is to resolve and though he was wrong cover him by apologizing on his behalf. Remember that.
I understand the frustration of the times and the under staffing. I also lead a team and be they part time, full time, associates or management behavior that of an rude and distasteful encounter should never be ok. Because everybody loses. TILSON, Home Depot was built on the backs of loyal customers and how dare you as a team member come in and try to destroy that. TILSON everyone has a bad day especially in customer service but when your customer is not rude or aggressive that should make your day, NOT cause you to take out your frustrations on them.
Your behavior today was a disgrace and a poor reflection of the Home Depots...
Read morePeter deserves 10⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐he made a very stressful situation better. I purchased flooring at Home Depot. Before I purchased the flooring I asked the gentlemen in flooring twice can you guarantee the installer can bring in my flooring. I was told yes the installer will do this. After being told this I purchased my flooring. Two days before my installation Home Depot contacted me. They informed me they needed to deliver my flooring while I was at work. I was furious!!!I informed the flooring manager that I was told my installer would bring in my flooring on the day of my installation. Home Depot said the installer will not do this. I explained to him that flooring staff guaranteed this before I made my 4K purchase. For a flooring staff to tell a valued customer who has spent over 12K in purchases at Home Depot is the worst kind of customer service!! I was extremely upset and mislead. Peter offered to assist and delivered my flooring the morning of my installation. He was professional and courteous. Home Depot in Bridgeport must do a better job in providing valued customers the RIGHT information and not the wrong information just for customers to make a purchase. Peter is a true life...
Read moreThe customer service at this store is very poor. I ordered and paid for material to build a deck and they were supposed to pick the order for me. It took them 5 days and I only received 35% of my order. I was doing this job for a customer and was only able to start after I made the purchases again and they wouldn’t credit my order. After 11 days some material still was not in the store. I had to drive to east haven to purchase the material again and the cost was more than what I already paid for. They would not release the material I paid for with my order receipt in hand. And I consequently paid $130.00 more for the wood.
I was promised a phone with the status of my order approximately 5 times and never received a call.
This store treats the people in Bridgeport poorly and we all need to post good and bad service. I’ve been a resident of Bridgeport for almost 30 years and I’ve been coming to this Home Depot since it opened over 25 years ago.
I will be sure to give a rating for every visits to this store.
Very very poor customer service
I could go on and on but I’m not sure a message this long will be read throughout
Sincerely,
Extremely upset with this service something...
