I have been both a customer and a vendor at JADE since the store on Main Street opened in 2015.
As a customer, I'm always pleased - and sometimes amazed - at the prices in the store. Because I am also a vendor, I know that the owners encourage their vendors to price fairly - so that the vendor can be successful but the customers are not gouged. I appreciate that they are open 7 days a week, and that each store offers friendly staff, clean restrooms, and a variety of snacks and drinks for sale - and the absolute best are the Cookie Doodle cookies and cupcakes! There is a little bit of everything but not too much of any one thing. You can find new, vintage, antiques, repurposed, paint, gifts, boutique clothing, Secret Garden Candles, and so MUCH MORE! I buy something almost every time I shop - which is almost every time I'm in the store! How could I not? It's like taking a trip down memory lane!
When I was looking for a place to move my booth from a place that was going out of business, I shopped around the Tulsa metro area, including Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Jenks, and Bixby. I found stores/owners that were absent or hard to reach, some that were very litigious, reminding me that everything they do was "advised by their attorneys," and stores where the combination of booth rental and commission made it seem insurmountable to success. And also contract lengths that were a wee bit scary for a still new business (I wasn't sure I wanted to commit to a 1 year contract when still so new!) I found that JADE had everything I was looking for! As a vendor, I appreciated the straight booth rental without an additional commission on sales, as well as all the attention to detail inside each store (wide aisles, lighting, arranged in a way that makes the store easy for customers to navigate, etc.) I have been very successful in my booth at JADE and am now getting ready to start my 4th year as a Vendor there!
The owners and staff are friendly, family oriented, and very welcoming to both customers and vendors. They are very involved and offer lots of assistance and advice to help make sure each vendor is successful. I would encourage anyone to shop the stores and see for yourself! If you're a vendor looking for a home or to expand, JADE is a must. You will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought an antique sideboard here last week and I came to pick it up today. When I got to the store, I only saw one employee, an older lady with shoulder length gray hair pulled back with a barrette. She took me back to my sideboard and it looked exactly like it looked when I bought it - none one had moved all the stuff on top of it and the booth was very crowded with no path to the sideboard. The employee started clearing a path and taking everything off the top. Instead of lifting the clock, which was heavy, she slid it across the top of my sideboard! It was heavy and scratched the wood. She knew she scratched it because she said something about a little polish will fix that - which isnāt true. No apology, nothing. I had to help her lift the clock to put it on a different shelf and it was extremely heavy.
The sideboard should have been cleared off before I got there and she shouldnāt have tried to do it by herself. I had picked up furniture at Jade Antiques right before and they had the dresser cleared off and moved to the back of the store for easier pick up. Thatās how it should be done!
Iām upset that the sideboard is not in the same condition that it was when I bought it. I may not have bought it if it had been scratched, or at least not at that price. But Iām also upset that she didnāt apologize and didnāt ask me if I still wanted it or offer a discount. Instead she acted like it wasnāt a big deal at all.
If I damaged something in their store, I would have to pay for it, but apparently itās fine for their employees to damage furniture that I already paid for. Go and browse all you want, but be careful buying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProbably the best place to find antiques, in my opinion! It strikes the right balance between "too-posh-for-your-wallet-antiques" and "one-step-up-from-a-garage-sale," which means you can find a lot of cool old stuff at reasonable prices. They have a large variety of antiques and vintage wares--mostly glassware, figurines, vases, and boxes/baskets--but they also have some nice furniture, toys, and memorabilia, as well as some beautiful antique books. There's also some brand-new stuff in the mix, most notably an entire two stalls dedicated to (quite affordably priced!) gemstones and fossils (including a heart-shaped orthoceras fossil stone dish for like $15, and a palm-sized orthoceras fossil stone for $4 :) Also shark teeth and polished gemstone spheres and just cool earth stuff :D).
I walked away with an 1880-era GORGEOUSLY bound collection of Lytton's poetry (the cover gives me so much joy, even if the book is falling apart, lol, it will be a display piece) and an adorable lil' solid metal (brass? copper? bronze?) owl.
-Atmosphere: Cluttered but in a cute and tasteful way; well-kept!
-Variety: Slay queens
-Affordability: Depends on what it is but prices are reasonable
-Also they have a section that funds a local cat rescue shelter so be sure to...
