When I travel I love to visit kitchen stores...and now we have our own!!! Plenty of standard items and lots of fun innovative kitchen wares that will make you smile-- like novelty cookie cutters, creative aprons, kids "fun face" plates with you can dress up with fruits and veggies... ice cube molds, unusual spices and teas...you name it. Its a refreshing welcome to downtown Brookings; Kirsten and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Really attractive store with lots to offer. Great for beginner and seasoned cooks or gift-giving. My teenage sons recently visited The Carrot Seed to find a birthday gift for their "hard-to-buy-for" mom. While I wasn’t there for the purchase, they shared that the staff asked insightful questions about my interests and then suggested the perfect items. Visiting town looking for a gift and want to shop local, going to buy a knife set CLEARLY priced $99, go to check out and am told it's $199, won't honor the marked price, won't go back there.

I appreciate you as a small business owner and try to support as many as I can. But as a customer I don't want to pay twice as much as the marked price. 99% of businesses would honor the price, guess this happened...
