My husband and myself were passing through the Houston, TX area on our travels back to North Carolina and decided to stay at Houston West RV park In Brookshire, TX. We decided to stay in the Houston area for the week and stayed for a total of 4 nights (Monday - Friday) at the park. Upon arrival, all staff members were very friendly and helpful in the office for our check in process. They provided us with information about the area, and offered numerous recommendations of things to do and great restaurants to try. All sites at the park are pull through sites that are nice and level. We were able to easily fit our 27' travel trailer along with our two vehicles in our site. There were two bath houses located in the park with one being a new facility offering family style bathrooms. There were two laundry locations within the park - 1 located at the main office and the other at the new bath house. The main office also offered a tv room with reclining chairs along with a library/book exchange area. The main office does have a small convenience store that sells snacks, beer, wine, and various other small things. The park had a small fishing pond that did allow you to catch & release fish from. The park did not offer a dog park/run area, but they did have one in the works that will be located near the pond. There was a dog bath station located on the side of the new bath house that was available for all park residents to use, which was well maintained and nice on sunny days. The park was well maintained during our stay with no visible trash on the grounds and bathrooms/showers always clean. The pool and hot tub were well maintained and very clean. There was free WiFi offered that provided very fast internet speeds that was great for streaming Netflix and movies. The park location was very convenient Katy, TX (12-14min away) and just 35min from downtown Houston, TX. I would definitely recommend the park to anyone passing through the area as we thoroughly enjoyed...
Read moreWhere do I start, I stayed here in this park in 2019⌠they were awful to the kids. Limited where they could ride their bikes to just the back road, wouldnât let them use roller blades, scooters, skateboards etc. instead of them playing and having a good time in the rv park that we pay 650 +electric (an outrageous price for what you get) they told them if they wanted to do that they would have to ride and play in the road. Why are you gonna tell 2, 10 y/o kids, and a 14 y/o to play in the road. LOCK YOUR TRUCK! We had bicycles stolen, and the truck was broken into! The pond, it was overgrown, has an abundance of turtles, no fish and mosquito infested. The shower houses were NASTY. THE CATS! THEY CLIMB ALL OVER YOUR VEHICLE, THEY TEAR UP THE TRASH THAT YOU SET OUTSIDE FOR PICKUP. THEIR ARE SO MANY CATS!! Parking is terrible when you have a bigger rv, and if you poke out in the road by two inches, youâll be getting a call, or a note on your car. And to top it all off the management was terrible, and very confrontational. I came back this year and they said they have new owners⌠I was thinking to myself, THANK GOD! Just for them to be the exact management team from years ago. Nothing about this park has changed⌠mangers are still coming up with new rules constantly just so the kids have to conform to them when they are being, quiet, respectful, and courteous to the other campers that stay in this park. Save yourself the trouble and go right down the street to SUMMER BREEZE. Itâs a little bit more money, but they have water slides, concrete pads, and are extremely happy to have kids running about! **just for reference, their are 0 rules about anything that they were making up for the kids, but the leash rule⌠they only enforce it on a certain few people. The management wants to make up new rules daily for some people. But for others the rules donât apply. ABSOLUTELY WOULD NEVER WASTE MY TIME, NOR MY MONEY FOR...
Read moreWe stayed at Houston West RV Park for a month when we moved back to Houston area. Our experience staying in the park was positive. HOWEVER, upon moving into our new residence we decided to store our Trailer Camper in their open storage lot. In the last year we have had a spare tire and wheel stolen from off our camper and just today I discovered a brand new battery that powers basics of camper and tongue lifter has been cut off and stolen as well. I accept my responsibility for not letting these critical items sit in the open. AT THE SAME TIME I fault Houston West RV Park for their lack of security around the storage lot. We put our trust in the owners and staff of the park to make sure that our property was safe when we started to store it there. That trust no longer exists. Being told to call the police and report the thefts is a cop out, no pun intended. I received no satisfaction from the park staff when I reported the theft today. LESSON LEARNED! If you have no other options for an overnight stay the facility is adequate. BUT I would urge you to watch your property diligently if you decide to store it with them. YOU WILL BE THE ONLY ONE WATCHING IT other than someone who might try to walk off with...
