I was really sick throwing up and diarrhea at the same time and doubled over with severe stomach pain. I had my husband take me to Encore only because my sister was in there when they first opened and they were so compassionate and caring, but they are far from that now.
I asked for a bedside toilet in my room because it hurt so bad for me to walk and I also couldn't make it far without having an accident. A younger girl walks in to say, "you're a full grown woman and you can't walk to the bathroom!?" I tried to explain to her why I couldn't get there and she rolled her eyes and walked off. I don't know how that might make you feel, but that really humiliated & embarrassed me, making me feel worse about being that sick. And then it only got worse... I was cursed with a nurse that was an older lady and she "dressed" like a Pentecostal but she did not have the love of Christ to show compassion and respect for the sick. She was really rude from the moment we walked in. I had just been to see our 6 day old grand-baby so I was concerned about Covid test. I asked for results and she walked in and said that my Covid test was negative and that there was nothing wrong with me. I told her I just woke up feeling so good that I thought I'd come up there to just visit!? As soon as she walked out, the Dr. walked in to tell me I had colitis and I had a really bad infection and he really felt that he needed to admit me and get me started on iv antibiotics asap. He asked if I'd stay and I told him I would if I could get another nurse and he did. I got a nurse name Daniel and he was really nice and took really good care of me. Unfortunately, all of their beds were full so when they admitted me, they kept me in the ER so Friday rolled around and the ungodly nurse was back and with the same bad attitude. I called to the nurses station to ask for my meds and to see the Dr and she told me I'd just have to wait! I gave her the benefit of doubt thinking that they may be in the middle of an emergency, but shortly after, I could hear her and a couple of the others at the nurses station laughing and cutting up. They are supposed to be there to take care of the sick, not sit around playing and cutting up so I called and told them to come get my iv's out because I was leaving. I could go home and take better care of myself then what she was willing to do! Oh she was sure to run in to get the iv out so I could leave yet she was to lazy to come in to help me with anything else. Then she had my night nurse bring me the ama paperwork to sign but I walked out bc I have never been treated that badly in health care that I've ever had to leave ama but there was no way I was staying there to be treated like that. I've worked in healthcare for 30 plus years and I can promise you that I never treated others that way. You're supposed to treat people with dignity, respect, and show compassion even if you don't like the patient. I prayed that she would feel bad for saying that there was nothing wrong with me after she found out that I really was sick but I think her heart is so hardened that God couldn't convict her. Idk why some people even get into nursing field when their hearts are so cold and they have no regard for human life. It's really heartbreaking to see but I can promise you this, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN & I am sure to tell everyone else not to either. Sadly, the 2 bad employees cancels out the good 5...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I absolutely would! I took my 19 year old son to the emergency room with an abscess tooth. Face swelling, eye closed, abscess. We had been to the dentist that morning with minor swelling and pain and received oral antibiotics, we were told if it gets any worse, go to the hospital. I got home from work at 7:00pm and his face and swelling had quadrupled in size and he was VERY sick. I immediately loaded him up and took him to the emergency room at Encore, as we had been to their ER when they first opened and it was a pleasant experience. Last night was anything but. The nurse took him back, triaged him, stuck him in a room and proceeded to be uncalled for rude to him. Told him “I don’t know what you expect of us, we aren’t a dentist office”, he text me upset and I asked to go back with him. Once back I ran into the nurse, still his nurse, that took him back. I explained that my son has a condition and just needed maybe a shot of Rocephin to kick the oral antibiotics in high gear, and we would see our dentist in the morning when they opened. I couldn’t even get that out of my mouth before she interrupted me “yeah yeah he’s already told me”. Then why are you being so hateful?! We didn’t ask for pain meds. He won’t take them! We just wanted a shot of antibiotics! We never saw a dr to my knowledge. The lady came back in, said “we have two shots of antibiotics and a pain pill”. Gave him the shots, and the pain pill (ketorolac - I found out after the fact) Never told us what the antibiotics shots were, and it wasn’t listed on the paperwork. We are currently at the dentist office who stated -“we told y’all to go to the hospital if it got worse! And it absolutely is!!” I get there are drug seekers that come to the ER all the time. ( l haven’t been to an ER in years, and my son has only been once, 2 or 3 years ago when they first opened) and we weren’t asking for pain medicine. If you are THAT jaded in your profession, one that is supposed to be about helping those in pain or in need, who are obviously, to the naked eye suffering, and there is no denying it was an emergency situation, then it’s time to switch professions, or departments, or whatever will put the compassion and empathy back into your cold heart. I’ve seen on the other reviews that the hospital responds with a link asking for more information, I hope they do. I can’t wait to tell then how horrific their ER employees were!! And also to send the picture of my sons face! I’ll be happy to fill out a detailed report! After reading these other reviews it looks like it’s time to step in and...
Read moreI went into this ER…(3rd time, never had a good experience, but this one takes the cake)…I have a known cardiac arrhythmia that can be fatal if sustained. I went in with chest tightness, headache/head pressure, near syncope, dizziness, palpitations and shortness of breath. I needed to be sure I wasn’t having an acute issue before seeing my cardiologist two days from now. The triage nurse Debbie was fantastic and professional. But, that’s where the goodness ended. The male nurse that called me back into the room said nothing. He gestured with his hand and threw two blankets at me. Never hooked me up to the monitor to actually monitor me for an arrythmia. He said, the doctor will be in soon. Later, Dr. Hinkley came in and asked me what I came in for. When I explained that I have a history of VTACH and I’m unmedicated for it (unsafe medication due to pregnancy and I’m 6mo postpartum) he said “So what brings you in today? I need to focus on what brought you here today.” He was annoyed and rude. Literally symptoms of VTACH, what I’m explaining brought me here. I later received blood work, iv, and urine test. Dr. Hinkley came back in a couple of hours later and said “well, I’ve been watching your rhythm while you’re here and you haven’t had an arrythmia so good news from us!” I was NEVER connected to the monitor. I never even had stickers placed. I heard the nurse next door tell the patient that she was being discharged and she probably “just had a little bit of anxiety.” The nurse, Linda, then came into my room and told me, “you probably have a little anxiety!” I’m a RN with a BSN for ten years with experience in a cardiac ICU. I’ve never ever seen suck a lack of care. I’ll be reporting this hospital, doctor, and nurses to...
