We are in the process of gutting our bathroom and remodeling everything. We had an appt with Nathan Lyons to measure the bathroom. He was also supposed to measure out kitchen for backsplash as I had found such a pretty backsplash at the Decorating Center that I wanted to buy and have installed. Not only did Mr. Lyons not bother to show up at our house for the appt, but he never bothered to call to tell us that he wasn't coming. Despite repeated attempts to contact him, both through his cell and through people at the store, he still hasn't returned our phone calls. My husband went into the store to try to talk to him......only to be told that Mr. Lyons was working on projects that cost between $80,000 to $100,000. My husband felt belittled by the whole thing; evidently, our "little" bathroom and kitchen projects weren't worth Mr. Lyons' time or worth the time from anybody else at the Decorating Center. We understand that, sometimes, things do come up, which make it difficult to keep appts. However, not to call to tell us he couldn't keep the appt was both very rude and very unprofessional. Thanks for the (lack of) courtesy and (not so) great customer service. Very poor conduct, very poor professionalism on the Decorating Center's part. We had worked with the prior designer when we remodeled our kitchen and he was so helpful and professional to us. I wish we could say the same for Nathan Lyons; sadly, I cannot. I had to give a star to publish the review, but I wouldn't even give the Decorating Center one star. They simply don't care about...
   Read moreThe manager of this store, Chris (this is a woman) was the rudest most unprofessional service person I have ever dealt with. This store sent ONE man to deliver 2 pieces of carpet (12'x21') that he could not bring into our home alone. They should have known before they sent him that he could not handle these by himself due to the weight of the carpet and the size. Fortunately, we happened to be getting a Federal Express delivery at exactly the same time and the man was kind enough to help him. We are 45 minutes away from the store and we did them a favor instead of sending the truck back, I paid the Fed Exp man to help. We were charged a delivery fee of $75.00. I asked for a refund of the $75.00 fee, after spending over $2,000.00 this time at that store and several thousands on a prior purchase. This is an incremental amount when compared with the total purchases we've made at this store. Chris, the manager, literally called me a liar when I told her I paid the Fed Exp man to help. I said I wasn't satisfied and she offered NOTHING to resolve our dissatisfaction. Instead, she very condescendingly said "this conversation is over" and hung up on me. I will be quickly passing the word around not to use this store unless she no longer works there. The other people we dealt with were very good at their jobs, and the delivery man was very kind. Came back.on phone and said bad run on material .. received a phone call.from DC two days later saying we did order your furniture dont want you to.think we didn't. Ok .. speaking to coworker verbalized my disappointment was called few days later by Chris who.reamed.me.out saying.that I was getting.good.customer.service and didnt appreciate me talking about.the business.to.coworker..guess she forgot.i was the customer !!
