Cold and windy night for World Premiere of a fan homage film, within a multi-generational family in City of Buffalo, NY. The fandom began in the 1960s and is every bit etched in the heart & mind of the family patriarch, matriarch and offspring. The full house theatre shared many hearty laughs of honest to goodness family dynamics seen and experienced in die-hard sports fans who grow up with sports team fandom "in their blood" whether they like it or not. From the Bocce pizza and wings that must accompany a game to the near heart attack intensity experienced by fans and this family throughout the game watching experience of UNBILLIEVABLE the movie world premiere. The theatre accomodations were pleasant. Adequate sound system for on stage in-person presence of writer who gave birth to the script, making Buffalonians proud, to the cinematographer who got on board, and the believable actors who portrayed so well what typical 3 and 4 generations of family go through in their Buffalo heart when their beloved Buffalo Bills football team play football seen over the airwaves or heard via radio. To see and hear on stage some before, some after the show for Q&A was a satisfying experience. North Park Theatre was the place to be for such an event. Red carpet turned red and blue to celebrate fan spirit in Buffalo with a football team Buffalonians follow...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I got tickets to go to a screening of “The Room” at NP. I have loved this movie since I was a teenager. We stood in line for 20 minutes to get a picture with Tommy Wiseau. When we got to the front of the line he himself lurched forward to to basically scold my girlfriend, who was standing in front of me, saying that we had to buy merch or we couldn’t take a photo with him. He got way too in her personal space and then he himself then dragged the velvet rope in front of her and made a shooing motion towards the merch table. It was such rude slimey aggressive behavior that we left the line and decided nothing about this event was going to be fun anymore. So we left without watching the movie.
That the North Park management is okay with this kind of behavior from the people they host makes me not want to support this venue anymore, at all. It should also be mentioned that apparently it was posted online that they would prefer people bought merch before taking a photo with Tommy. This information was not included when I purchased the tickets, NOR was it indicated anywhere when we got to the venue itself. We had our tickets scanned when we got in line to get a photo with Tommy so that might have been a good time to mention it? Nope. North Park is fine with the people they host acting like a bullying creep towards...
Read moreWe came for the Tommy Wiseau q&a. He was great. The movie once again - great. We were told we can stand in one line for the merch and to meet him. Anyone else could skip. We waited. It was suppose to start at 7. It was around 645ish and a man (worker) is splitting the line and forcing us inside. Everyone behind us just got in the merch / meet and greet line. We were so close. We were told that there was gonna be a chance to buy merch after. Lied to. They only had underwear for sale lol not my jam. Because everything else sold out. If we didn't get forced to go inside we would have gotten some. When being forced inside they should have had him in a different spot instead of right there in the entrance. No where to walk. No organization. We were forced inside to sit there for 30-45minutes waiting for the q&a to start then the movie. When we could have just stayed were we were in line to get what we came for. We got robbed an experience to meet him and buy merch. We are not only disappointed by that but the fact the seats to sit in were the most uncomfortable seats ever. Im so sad. The movie was great again. The audio was great. But so much...
