We joined Bodyplex shortly after we moved to Hamilton Mill---the club itself is a good club. They have some great people working there on the training staff and they were really helpful to us. We enjoyed some workouts there, but life took a turn putting us out in Texas. We submitted our notice to cancel on November 4th in person, and left on November 12th. We were aware of the fact that we'd have one more billing, but instead the cancellation never got put in. We were billed multiple times following our cancellation. We called to notify the club of the mistake, and spoke with the club manager at the time. This was December 27th, 2018. I was reassured by the Club Manager that they would refund me the two charges, and that I would see the refund within 7 to 10 business days. I did not see the refund so I called back, and was told that the manager I spoke with no longer worked there. I was told I that the new manager would look into my situation and call me back. I waited another week, and called back in. The same thing happened. I got told someone would be back in touch with me. It took almost a month when I got a call from someone who found a sticky note with my name on it, and figured she'd reach out to see what the note was about. I explained my situation for the 4th time, but this time I was told that no refund would be given. That there was a clause stating that if membership was cancelled for any reason within 6 months a fee would be applied. They stated that regardless of what was told to me by Club Management I was essentially stuck. The kind woman did tell me she'd speak with the owner of the club, and call me back to see what could be done. I never got that call back which was a bit frustrating. I don't leave negative reviews, but in this situation I was expecting a business to deliver on what they said. I was expecting for them to acknowledge that since they do NOT have locations in Texas, and can no longer deliver services the would honor my cancellation without issue. I was also expecting for them to do the right thing by refunding the money taken when the Club Manager promised to do so without issue. This location has great equipment, it is clean for the most part, it has some really good trainers, and in a good location. I would encourage you to join this location if you don't see life changing on you over the course of a year, but as we all know life is unpredictable. I had to move to Texas which wasn't cheap by any means, and these unexpected charges didn't help.
I'm still hoping that the Owner and current Club Manager decide to do the right thing morally, and refund the charges. I will update this post...
Read moreOnly giving two stars because yes, it’s a gym and it does have equipment. However… it’s crowded, and not just a regular gym crowd. It’s a crowd of teenagers with zero regard for gym equipment or gym etiquette. Management doesn’t address these issues, so the teenagers continue to take over and run wild as if it’s an after-school program. They don’t open until 9am on Sundays, which is a little late in my opinion. They’ve added some new equipment (which is great), BUT the equipment is literally stacked on top of each other, so I hope you enjoy working out in close quarters. The gym definitely is not ADA compliant. There’s a serious lack of mirrors in the gym also, so good luck checking your form in what they call the “Grind Room” or in the upstairs area. The area where the squat racks and free weights are has literal dips in the floor from weights being dropped/slammed. They don’t have deadlifting platforms, so if you want to lift heavy, you risk damaging the floor. The front desk staff does need improvement, with the exception of Jen and Paul. They’ve always been very helpful and not stuck on themselves. I cannot say the same for other front desk staff members. Some of the “trainers” don’t really do the best job at selling themselves as trainers or attempting to recruit clients for training. For example, one of the trainers in particular will stand around the gym and place judgment on members genuinely trying to work out. I do find it odd that employees and also family members of employees have written reviews for this location, which is comical. I truly believe if you can’t get reviews by paying members and have to “recruit” reviews, that says a lot about the business. If you’re serious about actually working out, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a hangout where you can drop your kids off in the gym daycare, this is your spot. I’m also fully expecting a defensive reply (as they’ve given to several others who’ve left honest reviews) and I’m...
Read moreFacility is ok. I needed to cancel because I moved 3hrs away. They said there was a $100 cancellation fee. No problem. I sent my new lease for my condo to them (notarized). 2 months later still paying monthly fees and they are charging me $75 for an annual fee. Front desk person who says she handles all cancellation was rude, not helpful, and said that I would be turned into collections if I turned the claim into my bank. I'm a VP at the bank so I told her the info she was providing was wrong and that I would be turned into collections anyways. I'm a pro bodybuilder as well and have lots of connections throughout Atlanta and the industry. If this is how they treat there cliental when they follow the process of cancellation so be it. My 60k followers on IG will here about it. My sponsors here in Atl will here about it. Everyone I can tell about this gym and the awful experience and ZERO help will hear about it. There are so many other choices and companies that can/will handle this so much better than this organization. I hate the fact that one person like this individual can ruin something good for a small center. Who ever reads this from BP please help this person get some customer experience training. Not once did she offer an alternative solution. Not once did she apologize for the mistake of her organization. In fact, she did the opposite and said I was wrong in all counts of the situation. BE AWARE...
