Duncan Creek Park is very large, and has many amenities to choose from. When you drive in the park if you take the first right once in the park, you will be at the large playground. The playground has a large pavilion with grill for rent. Very spacious! Plenty of benches for parents and kids to sit on. The bathroom very close to the playground. Several umbrellas to help kids stay out of the sun while playing. Separate playgrounds, based upon age group. Playground with handicap-accessible features! Many swings. Playground floor is either mulch or astroturf. Smaller kids’ area has a sand to play in. Rock climb wall. Two slides and a small bridge. Handicap accessible features are very nice, long ramp for access to play. Fun pretend house to play in. Nice sidewalk on the playground to ride a scooter or bike. Small set of monkey bars, and handicap accessible swings. Several slides on the bigger playground. If you want to see more of what the park has to offer, get in your car and drive further down the road. The next entrance has four lighted basketball courts and three lighted sand volleyball courts. The skate park is nice. Different areas for tricks. Lighted skate complex. Benches and bathrooms. At the very back of the park there is a soccer field, football field with a walking track,...
Read moreIt's a great transition park! 3 or 4 great bowls and a nice flow section for transitions including a hip and bank to ledge. If you enjoy that kind of skating, this park would be great for you.
As for street skating though, this park is pretty lackluster. It has solid obstacles and multiple for each skill level, but the street obstacles are really poorly placed and often result in cross traffic which can be scary or frustrating if it breaks up a line; and also just messes up the flow of the street sections. Lines in general are nearly impossible to plan out.
The community is also great. I've left my camera bag unattended here while skating plenty of times and have never had anyone touch it. People here are also extremely helpful to the newer skaters, cognitive of the kids in the park, and just super cool and friendly with everyone. Highly recommend the park if you're a transition skater, recommend it marginally less if you're an intermediate to advanced street skater, though you will still have...
Read moreIt’s a great park close by to home for my 4 year old daughter. But…they have too many older kids unaccompanied by parents playing on the small kids playground.
There’s kids the age of 8-14 running around playing chase IN THE ACTUAL LITTLE KIDS PLAYGROUND, and they are climbing up slides so small children can’t go down the slide. Half the time when I take my daughter, we have to leave because too many older kids are on the smaller kids playground and they are making it unsafe for the smaller children.
I’m a Ga Pre K teacher and know the proper safety precautions for playgrounds. So when I see large sized older kids climbing up slides and running as fast as they can on the smaller kids playground equipment, I’m completely aware of what injuries can happen because I see them happen on my class playground when kids aren’t following playground rules.
It’s just a shame my daughter can’t always go on the smaller kids playground because unaccompanied big kids are inappropriately using...
