Though it says Yancey County, it's really in downtown Burnsville. This compact, very local outdoor market has an interesting range of items, including soaps, native Appalachian medicinals, flowers, baked goods, honey, and several vegetable stands. All the vendors are friendly and relaxed. It's missing a few items like chicken eggs, local meats, smoked trout, and cheeses, but that's OK. It occupies a needed niche of top-quality items at great prices. I like it that it isn't filled with frozen prepared foods like most larger markets with pricey tags. For locals, several farm stores have regular CSAs and stocked items. An actual food co-op also fills in most blanks. If you want a big market show, there are several in Asheville where you will fight crowds, traffic, and upscale tourist pricing.

What a great mix of vendors!! Lots of friendly people and great items for sale. Wonderful produce, lovely flowers and amazing looking baked goods. The music really gave it a good vibe. Check it out on a Saturday!

Absolutely heartbroken. I've been going to this market regularly for years with my well behaved great pyrenees. I show up for the first time at their new location, only to be turned away with signs that say "no dogs allowed". This was a poor decision. This was my go to for happy times with my dogs. And in such a dog friendly area, I can't believe they made a decision like this. I was told that they made the decision because of misbehaved dogs. Lots of businesses deal with this and still allow dogs, they just set rules about leashes and make violators leave. There were many other regulars turned away as well. We are all sad about this decision. Please change the policy. Farewell Yancy County...

Please change your business hours to seasonal. It’s a little extra leg work for you, but would save time, miles, and gas for a lot of people.

During the season in which your business is open, set your regular hours of operation. You may set special hours for holidays, temporary closures, or other events. You can also indicate that your business is open only for a specific seasonal period in your business description. During off-season, contact support to have your business marked as temporarily closed. Alternatively, you can mark your business as permanently closed during this period. Set your regular business hours when your...
