I am having a wedding in June of 2021. We booked this establishment to cater it in July of 2020 and paid our deposit. We had our first meeting which seemed to go fine, and the owner told us to contact him closer to the wedding. Fast forward to the present. After calling multiple times and being told “call closer to the wedding” I called last week, where the owners wife told me they would be “out of town that weekend” and won’t be able to cater our wedding. After explaining we booked a year ago and paid a deposit, she said everything should be good and we should be on the calendar.
The owner then called and canceled catering our wedding a few days later, giving a made up excuse about not being able to cater to over 50 people (in the first meeting he said he would be able to cook and just meet us at the venue if COVID was an issue still) because of the health department. This cancellation comes 2 months before the wedding, in a season that is packed because of all the weddings cancelled last year. Completely unprofessional, and he was completely uncaring and unapologetic.
I would steer clear if you are planning your big day, don’t add the unneeded stress of finding a replacement caterer months before. There are plenty of awesome companies that are excited to serve and make your day special....
Read moreI love this shop. Warning - if it is your first visit, budget ample time! The aisles are narrow, the shelves are tightly packed, and every nook and cranny holds potential treasure. For example, are you shopping for imported pasta? There is an impressive selection indeed, shelved in at least three different locations with some overlap of product but mostly there are unique items in each individual location. I overheard a gentleman who is clearly a local and frequent shopper lamenting the lack of buccatini; an employee overheard him and led him around a corner and up a step to, Eureka, plenty of buccatini!
The wine selection is the best in Butte by far, and while the wine (and beer cooler) is in it's own small side room, don't miss the stacks of specials found all around the shop.
Go! You...
Read moreI enjoy shopping here. There is so much variety and many unique items which I like to give as gifts. The gorgonzola dip has been a favorite in my family for many years. We always purchased the pretzel sticks that came in nondescript plastic bags to go with the dip, but they've been out of those since last summer. I guess the company that makes them is retooling their factory. They had some nice Italian breadstick rods available for purchase instead. They also sell many ethnic entrees, all ready to be popped in your oven for a quick yet decadent meal. You have to check it out. You won't believe the variety from pickles to pasta they've got almost anything you could imagine. Oh, and you can also eat in at their small dining area. Wines and...
