Nice cemetery with a cool view of the mountains in the background and pretty pine trees. Probably the most famous person buried here is Robert "Evel" Knievel, famous daredevil motorcyclist who was renown for jumping cars, buses, etc...on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His family is buried next to him, under a pine tree.

My son and I visited gravesites of family members. Even though we hadn’t planned to stop and visit due to the cold temperatures and snow, we contacted the caretaker, who answered and provided a map of our family gravesites so we could add photos and locations to FindAGrave.com

Quiet cemetery in a very busy part of town, grounds are maintained. Can be a little crowded near Evel’s grave but that’s to be expected.

I tried to rest my head and heart in a quiet space in the back of the cemetery. I find them to be a calming place for me...the quietude, being able to remain solitary, the love that shows for people's lost ones (ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹). And, personally, I enjoy walking and locating the oldest stone and/or site I can find, and I like to look up the stories and history of prominent and memorialized folks, to get a feel for the region I'm in at that time (I'm a full time traveler for 9 years...always in a new place...) i love to get a feel for the local history, the happenings, the events, and they oft lead to interesting old newspaper clippings etc., and I enjoy becoming more familiar with the region I'm in, through, in my own little way, keeping the memories alive.

But, unfortunately, this place is deeply UN-welcoming. Not the sites, not the grounds, but the people or family who manage them. Unfortunately they're not actually, in reality, even if they've pretended to show care or love for the loss of your family/friends...beneath the surface, when they're not making a profit on you...they could not care less. It is quite sad, honestly, just how rude, heartless, careless, and loveless, the management of the grounds are.

I was sitting and Journaling, (the other reason I find peace in cemeteries is, actually, because I very recently lost my husband, and was widowed...and we used to share in our adventures "down the memory lane" of the history of the locals...and...in some weird way...it's, I guess...kinda like, it's so quiet that I can almost hear him again...) So, i was writing. Just seated in my van, writing to my husband actually...when all of the sudden, this elderly woman, white shirt hair, fluffed and feathered, a nice shiney new black SUV (that, if judged from her behavior, I'm sure came from exorbitant pricing they gouge out on those who are suffering losses and are very vulnerable...) she whips up beside me in the dirt area where I was resting. She pulled up to my passenger side yelling something at me. I told her I could not hear her, and if she wanted to say something she can come speak to me at my open window, but I'm unable to reach over to roll the window down 4ft away. So she dug a hole in the dirt with her tires to try to drive (I guess through the dirt pile?? Her direction choice made ZERO sense to me...not that I am, by any means, the arbiter of "common sense," which i do not even believe in!! Hahaha! But...it seemed to me, with the dirt mound eclipsing 5ft high and 15+ft wide being situated directly in front of me...her vehicle on the passenger side of my vehicle...and a wide open space beside me on the driver side...it seemed, well, rather odd to drive straight for the dirt pile and try to come to the drivers side...I guess...over it??? I don't know!) She then stopped (you know...the humongous pile of multiple tons worth of soil!!!) In FRONT of me...and proceeded to yell some more at me. I told her, craning my head out of the window, trying my best to be polite to this OBVIOUSLY very aggressive woman, "I'm struggling to hear you, give me a moment I can get out and come over....." to which she cut me off completely, raised her voice higher than I realized that 115 year old wind-pipe was still capable of!!!! She might still be suffering the repercussions of that self made injury!! šŸ˜† she simply cut me off completely, said "I DON'T CARE!!!!!!! YOU CANT SLEEP HERE!!!!!" And I was confused.....it was about 3:00pm...sleep here? "What the hell are you talking about??" I replied, rather perturbed honestly. I was OBVIOUSLY simply visiting, WELL during visiting hours. She said it again. And I tried my best to explain and to remain polite. And I started explaining, I got less than 10 words out... "I am just sitting here...I find comfort in...." when she stomped on the gas and dug another hole with her tires and blooped her car over the edge of the mound...said "GO AWAY IM CALLING THE COPS!!!" And drove off. literally OVER TOP of two grave-sites as she whipped around to alert the authorities that someone was...

This is the cemetery that Frank Little is buried. A union organizer who promoted non-violent means to demonstrate for safer working conditions, as a result he was tortured and murdered by hired mining company thugs in 1917. His grave has become an honored site by union workers from all over for...
