Calera Town Hall — Local services in Calera

First I would like to say - one of the employees, Susan, is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and helpful. She does not deserve the reputation associated with Calera Municipal court. She went above and beyond to help me in ways she easily could've decided not to. Thank you, Susan, for your goodness and humanity.

That being said, my experience with the remaining office staff and procedures in every other way has been terrible. They are unprofessional and sloppy. They are bitter about their jobs and it shows. Lindy in particular has a repugnant telephone presence, with a voice that drips of condescension and ire. Other reviews say that the town is a speeding trap, so it appears that the majority of the town hall staff delight in nothing more than seeing others as miserable as they are. They are exactly the sort of people that should NOT be serving the publc....

I’ve only dealt with the water/trash side of things. The lady I speak with is always SUPER friendly and sweet and helpful. She deserves five stars. However, the policies for the city of Calera aren’t very forgiving. We have lived here for six years and had our acct on auto-draft, always paying on time. But one month I accidentally canceled the wrong account on bill pay and our water didn’t get paid, so we had to pay a $50 charge for it to be turned back on!!! That seems very steep for customers who’ve had a long history of being good about paying...
