Family Dollar — Local services in Calumet Township

I have patroned this store a few times. It is in the hood, so expect what you would expect in the hood. I've never been bothered by anyone fyi. The service is nice, but today, something really threw me off! I was buying ant traps to get ready for the summer season. The box of cheaper traps was partially covered in mouse feces!!!!! I picked one up to purchase and realized what was on it. Upon further investigation, many of the boxes were covered just the same. Come on employees, how can you stock that?! It just made me think of other scenarios and I don't think I will be back. I gave two stars because service is always nice. I would've taken a picture, but didn't bring my phone in...

Apparently this one doesn't honor the 30 day money back guarantee, set by Family Dollar. His excuse was it's Christmas Eve, and they are not accepting my return WITH A RECEIPT because they are trying to "get rid" of what I was returning. Funny, if that's the case, it should be in fine print on my receipt (which it wasnt), or advertised that toys can't be returned the day before Christmas. Sad I had to go out my way to the next nearest Family Dollar to return the item. They did it with no problem. I know not to stop at this...

The staff has ALWAYS welcomed me in, from managers, to crew members(cashiers)!! That part makes me feel very safe and comforted. Although at times there's some unsavory people hanging around the store, which sometimes makes me want to drive right off, this store has ALL my essentials I need..
