August Chinese Supermarket — Local services in Canton Township

I’m so glad that August Chinese Supermarket exists in Canton, as it can be a bit of a trek to go to other Asian grocery stores in the area. It is a small store but carries all of your Asian cooking essentials.

Some of my favorite things to pick up here: giant bags of rice, bok choy (they have a few different kinds), bean sprouts, boba ice cream bars, soft and firm tofu, mochi, instant packs of soondubu, frozen dumplings, Asian snacks and candy, and sauces like lao gan ma chili crisp, soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, etc.

The store is immaculately clean and organized every time I go in, and the owner is so kind. When she bags your groceries, she ties them closed so that nothing falls out, and she’s also held the door open for me on my way out when my hands were full. I was introduced to August Chinese Supermarket by a friend. Everything about this store is very clean and the layout is intuitive after a couple visits.

It's brightly lit and well stocked. The organized and English labeled shelves have an excellent selection of products with really good freshness dates; many premium brands I sought too. The coolers are huge and the produce section has an excellent selection of fresh Asian produce.

The staff person that assisted me was kind and knowledgable. I got everything on my list, the prices were very competitive and overall, I had a satisfying shopping experience. No need to travel to Ann Arbor for my Asian...
