Sunshine Foods — Local services in Canton Township

My mom is battling cancer and she moved into a nursing home about a month before Thanksgiving. My family lives about 5 hours from her and wanted to spend Thanksgiving with her but I was worried about having to buy everything E.V.E.R.Y. Thing to make our thanksgiving meal since we had emptied her fridge and cupboards of all food when she went into the home. Mom suggested we buy a full meal from Sunshine foods and I agreed but I have to admit I was really worried...we were trusting our Thanksgiving meal in your hands! There were 6 of us and we are big adults...would there be enough? Would it be good? Would it stand up to our standards and memories? Would we have enough for leftovers later? We picked it up as we drove through Canton on Wednesday. Put it in the fridge and on Thursday I put it in the oven for an hour. Set the table and BAM! I was done!! Brilliant!! There was plenty of food, especially the turkey and potatoes. We had turkey sandwiches Thursday night. I was able to make soup with leftovers the next day AND I was able to make a full turkey tetrazzini casserole the next week!! I will totally do this again! Best decision we could have made. Thank you Sunshine for making our thanksgiving so easy...

I have shopped here out of necessity for 4+years. Prices are extremely high which I could understand being in a small community, but anything that is “fresh” such as produce, meat, etc is always close to expiring and prices are still very high even when they sell expired food at a “discount.” I want to buy local but unfortunately, I get so frustrated each time I shop here. My last trip was on 7/14 when I bought a Boston butt pork roast. I was in a hurry- didn’t check the date. 2days later went to cook it, and saw the sell by date on Sunshine’s label was 7/12 & the actual use by date on the packaging was 7/13 (this meat was not discounted & had already expired when I bought it in the store). I opened the package and the meat definitely smelt spoiled . $20.23 down the drain.. Beyond frustrated yet again. I’ve had this happen with pork ribs before. Lol. Great service. I read that first review, and I can't help myself. I really only post if a company deserves good credit, and this store does. The first reviewer reminds me of stuck up customer I have ever seen in my restaraunt. "WAAAAA. Customer service.......WAAA.". I am sorry your too lazy to get up and check yourself, but hanging up on you was GOOD customer service. You know, taking care of good customers!!!! I wouldn't go to a Starbucks either, cause they don't questions their employees service, they kick out...
