I had weighed my pieces before I sent them in. I had roughly an idea of what I had and what it weighed. John, was his name. By checking tracking, a message saying an offer had been sent, check spam if I don't get it .. I checked everything. " john" finds it and apologizes and says it hadn't been sent but gives me an offer of 365.00. I declined immediately. He put me on hold to get permission to give me higher offer. Comes back to the phone, and proceeds to tell me, my silver was plated. I know exactly whati had silver. But I wasn't going to argue over 33.00 Oz I sent in and " I HAVE A VIDEO OF ME PUTTING IT ON BAG TO SEND OFF IDENTIFYING EACH PIECE I PIT IN WORTH ANYTHING". I added a couple I wasn't sure just for opinion but I sent in my serious gold and silver I had had for a long time. He says there was around 13 grams of 18kt. I myself had weighed my stuff before sending.. gave me an offer of 520.00 for that. I figured should be almost 800 but they wouldn't be in business without making a little.. so I said ok. Common sense and conversation says if u aren't going to use what i can prove was silver, and were not interested in all. Then I t should have come back with the check of what he didn't use. I used a friend's address just for a tracking # so I could keep track of my jewerly. Most importantly the facts and details of the emails I sent to them before thy even got my shipment. As they had it ..and again as soon as I hung up from offer. Adding some details... very detail oriented and videos etc I have and sent.. On the phone I asked for him to send ne an email of what he was paying me for.. he said absolutely no problem. I gave ample time to recieve and I didn't. So I returned immediate email reminding... it was Friday and towards end of day.. so Monday I waited patiently for my envelope. I recieved and signed for it . I opened it snd and almost had a heart attack..there was only a check. No jewelry.. I called immediately. A lady answered, I tried to calmly explain. First she tells me they don't send emails bc of taking advantage of their appraisal services. I made clear. No mam, each piece didnt even have to be listed. He said he would send me what he paid me for.. she said paid for appx 13 gram 18kt, I said yes that would be about right. I had one necklace that was 12.and a slim one so that sounds ok. How much 14kt. She tells me that there isn't any 14 kt listed... I wanted to cry.. I don't know what to do from here..I had several pieces that I just Didn't wear, had forever.. a single mom close toXmas. So I decided to sell... i offered to give them their check back. I was informed its processed after 24 hrs. And that it wasnt an option. She forwarded it to a supervisor. A short time later. She called back.. said she listened to the call. John never specified he would send anything back.. do u have to specify? If you are not paying me for it then it would be mine..I can prove what ihad.. she very quickly and easily told me that she would send me another 150.00 check. That pretty much there isn't any way of changing anything. No one to give more info to. To take it leave it. It's my fault for accepting the offer... it was clear that I accepted the offer for 13 grams of 18kt gold.. he stole my 14 kt two tone gold bracelet and all my silver... and I'm binded over a misrepresentation of acting like he was talking about it all.....it was clear for 18kt gold.. what about my video of what I took of each piece showing me putting it inmail? I hope someone higher than the con artist see this and does something. Do nog use this service. I cant post a review on their website. I dont know else i can even call.. they knew i was telling them the truth when it wasnt...
Read moreUPDATE: Removing a star due to owner response completely missing the point and attempting to invalidate the review with data to back up the price. The point is not how much I was offered as I CLEARLY stated that I knew I would not get anything near the price that was paid for the ring. Multiple times I was told “no questions asked” and when I declined their offer they IMMEDIATELY called me and asked questions… so it’s actually a lie. They ask questions and negotiate until you accept the offer. Furthermore, their offer is in fact dishonest as they expect to negotiate with owners so are clearly offering well below what they would pay and lying about the market value.
*I sent in an engagement ring and was told that if I didn’t like the offer I received that they would “send the item back no questions asked!” This seemed great to me, worst that can happen is it gets lost in the mail. When they offered me $100, I scoffed and immediately clicked Decline. THEN someone called me and started negotiating. I HATE this and I am easily bullied. Huge mistake sending this to them. I ended up with $170 for a $2500 ring (I know jewelry doesn’t hold value and wasn’t expecting a lot!) that I would rather have kept or given to a friend. I’m honestly a little bummed since this to know the ring has just been melted down and I’ll never see it again. My mistake but warning to anyone out there who isn’t a hardass and able to really stand up and say “give me my item back, I’m...
Read moreEmailed this business March 31, 2023 regarding a 14 ky gold watch case . I was advised a packet with a Fed Ex label and envelope would arrive in 7-10 days. I was also advised I could use the attached printable Fed Ex shipping label and use my own shipping container. I wrapped the watch case in bubble wrap and used a small box I had recently received a shipment in and put it in a Fed Ex drop box on April 2. I tracked the package and it was picked up April 3 and was in the Fed Ex shipping facility in Memphis on April 3. It never left Memphis and it was determined later the watch case was lost while in transit. I worked with Fed Ex and finally received a nominal amount ($100) as there was no insurance on the supplied shipping label.
I contacted Cash for Gold and was told as of April 10, 2023, 69.5 grams of 14 kt gold was worth $2,592.13.
I contacted Cash for Gold and was told there is up to $5,000 insurance available for items los5 in transit. I filled out the claim for and was told to wait 30 days . The form was completed April 20. I asked for an update on 2 occasions and was told there is a 30 day wait ( waiting for a break the the case?)
On May 22 I received a 6 sentence letter and a company check for $1,900.
No explanation was supplied on how the &1,900 figure was arrived at. No explanation on the $692.13 reduction (27%...
