Edit to your reply: yikes, I canāt possibly see how you have a business this long yet you are so openly dishonest to say that you had asked me a few questions, but I would not reply. You literally just took my review and turned it around to say what you did wrong is what I did?! You did not ask me any questions, you said 3 sentences to me and that was our entire conversation. I had asked you if you could answer my question in regard to weight limit of the boat depending on the persons weight and you told me that I needed to come down there to shop. I then said so thatās not a question that you can answer over the phone, and you said no you need to come in and shop. The person that Iām shopping for wouldnāt even be there to do all of the things that youāre saying is best to do when buying a kayak the things you just listed had no relevance to my question. I simply asked a generic question, in which you couldnāt answer you wanted me to come down to the shop. if you truly do have a medical condition, I am sorry, but I have never heard of a medical condition being one where you are āchronicallyā stuffed up, sniffling, and coughing without being contagious. As a business owner myself, Iām actually a palled at your response to try and turn the blame on me and use the tactic āIāve been in business for X amount of yearsā and ābased on my reviews, etc.ā simply just own up to it, the reply is confirmation in which I should not have ever gone down there thank you.
I called the other day inquiring about information on kayaks such as what rules to follow when it comes to weight limits for a person of said weight. The lady who answered the phone was very short and some what rude and certainly unhelpful. She would not answer my question her only response was to come down and check out the shop and to purchase with them. Regardless of where I'm purchasing someone would have to answer my question and clearly they only care if you do business with them. A simply question that could be answered over the phone turned into I can only help you if you come here. Now mind you the kayak I would be purchasing is not for myself and what difference would it make over the phone or in person, this gave me no desire to waste my time going down there, especially when she answered the phone hacking up a lung and sounded extremely congested and sick. All the more reason to stay away. The interaction just gave me a bad taste for their business and left me no desire to purchase for them. Thankfully other local shops were able to help me over the phone in which I have plans to visit a few of those locations...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBy far the most friendly and knowledgeable team around for Kayak information, gear and rentals. Staff will always go out of the way to help you with your needs. Yes, this shop is more pricey than others but don't let that scare you from stopping in- they only sell top quality gear. There is never a feeling of pressure to buy and the staff will let you know if what you are looking to purchase would be overkill. They are true lovers of the sport and share their passion and knowledge with their customers on a daily basis, even if it is to stop in for a chat to learn more about the sport (and there is a lot to learn) to help you decide on the right gear for you.
The rental equipment is designed for the novice paddler, very safe and stable kayaks. This is to ensure that everyone feels safe and truly enjoys their time on the water. If you are a more experienced kayaker and want to bring your own you are more than welcome. One other rental note is that if you are not comfortable on a river and prefer the calm waters on a pond or lake, they allow you to rent off site for the day, vests, paddles, and kayaks!
No other store in the valley will come close to meeting your needs for a fun filled day on the water. Please stop in and say high to everyone and become part of the ever growing family of "yakers" Also check out their website for cool classes and events like the moonlight paddle coming up soon.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI needed some valley replacement kayak hatch covers for my sea kayak. I shopped around on the internet and found a site called Tom's Top Kayaker Shop. Tom had multiple replacement hatches for my Valley so I called Tom up in New Hampshire and he educated me on the brands he sold and why on was better than the other. Right on Tom! Part of me wanted to shop local so I thanked Tom and went to Collinsville Canoe & Kayak a few days later because they told me over the phone they had what I was looking for in stock. CCK said they had a cover for $80. When I went to CCK to look at the covers and they were charging $20 more per cover than Tom's Top Kayak Shop was charging. CCK would not budge on their price. CCK was selling a recreational hatch cover for the price of a "performance" hatch cover. Thanks, but no thanks CCK. You guys are way over priced. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
7/08/18-update: Thanks for the response Melissa. I appreciate you wanting to correct the error. My concern is with the people who you sold the kayak hatch covers to at price $20 above what they could have had them for. They were taken advantage of. This should have never happened. ...
