
Good initial quality but nails lifted in a week Terrible scheduling & availability Seems to stop caring about customer service after a good review
The 1st time I visited this salon, there was a scheduling issue w/ one of the acrylic artists. I booked online last minute & the system allowed this, even though the artist had already left for the day.
It was not a scheduling issue due to any kind of emergency or legitimate problem -- the artist just wanted to leave. This would have been no issue had the artist closed the schedule, but they didn't and I don't think it's professional to charge someone & send them away empty-handed due to a mistake on their part.
When I asked to please elevate the situation to a supervisor or suggested I was considering leaving a Google review of my experience, the salon's demeanor changed. They went out of their way to fix the issue & the owner drove in on her day off to do my nails. I was initially very impressed.
But when I expressed satisfaction at the end of my service, I was told that I "better" leave that in the review & that she would be looking for it. This made me highly uncomfortable but the nails looked good & she'd worked hard, so I planned on leaving a great review & did.
Unfortunately, the nails lifted in a week, which was frustrating at the highest prices in town. While the price felt worth it initially due to the skill of the artist, it definitely would not be if it had to be redone every week.
I managed to get an emergency appointment to get them fixed & paid the deposit. There was a snowstorm that night, but I live close and was able to walk there even though the lot was barely plowed & not a lot of people were out at the time.
I tried the door but it seemed locked & I didn't see anyone inside. I assumed they had closed for the day due to weather. So I returned to the salon the day of my scheduled refill 2 weeks later & the owner informed me that I was very late to that appointment. I saw that I was only six mins late, but it turns out the artist had a different appointment time than me -- her schedule said 15 mins earlier, making me ~22 minutes late.
I showed her the appointment on my phone, but she barely looked. She seemed to suggest there was an error on my part, but it was her scheduling system that automatically booked the appointment. I never set the appointment in the 1st place & couldn't have set the time any differently.
She offered to still do my service & I explained that I should have a $30 credit from the missed appointment for inclement weather. She said the salon was never closed & that she was there all day. We were at odds -- I thought she was closed & she thought I never came, both of which weren't true.
I tried to consider other possibilities -- the door is heavy & you have to pull hard & that could have made it seem locked. I also wondered if they had perhaps stepped in the back for a moment at the same time I arrived in an unfortunate coincidence, but she was adamant that someone was in the front every second of that day.

One of my friends recommended Elise at Studio Day Spa and said that he'd been very pleased with her, so I figured I'd give them a try. I'm extremely particular about my hair and I wanted a dramatic change so I was pretty apprehensive about switching. It turned out that all my fears were completely unfounded.
I called on a Wednesday and they were able to get me an appointment that same Friday. The woman who set up my appointment over the phone (I believe she's the owner?) was very friendly and helpful. When I got to the shop on Friday, Elise took the time to sit me down and really do a detailed consultation with me about what I wanted and didn't want out of my haircut. I was very impressed with her skill when it came to actually cutting my hair as well. She clearly knows what she's doing and explained each step of the process as she did it which totally put me at ease.
Not to mention, the cost of this appointment was almost half of what I was used to paying at my old salon.
Needless to say, I will most definitely be back. I've already set up my next appointment and will be referring all my friends and family to Elise in...

Went fine but the blow dry was done with a straightener. Not hair dryer which is weird! Second time, came to do full color, showed the girl pictures of what I wanted a got a completely different color. Instead of owning it and trying to fix it, the girl insisted it's the best color she could get and I should wait...I had to leave so I couldnt even argue. Second time, I had to reschedule 2 hours before the appointment but the line was busy the whole time. When I finally got a hold of them, which was after the appointment time, the girl said the phone was fine (don't know if she was suggesting I was lying). Third time, I came in to find the hair stylist doing someone's nails. I waited for 30 mins. Instead of apologizing for the delay she just kept saying it'll be few more minutes...like I didnt already wait 30! Definitely not going back. Such a disappointing customer service and...
