I just had the extreme pleasure over the past 24 hours to meet with and discuss the purchase of a new HVAC system with Mr. Dan Hamm. My wife and I purchased a home in Johnston, IA in August of '23. The home had the original furnace and AC systems, now 23 years old. The AC worked fine through the summer and the furnace worked well up until Saturday morning, January 13th. We woke up at 3:00 am to a 52 degree house! We called our HVAC support team from another company and when the tech showed up he couldn't define the actual problem. At that point my wife and I decided we shouldn't put valuable dollars into into such an old system but rather to invest in a new, high efficient product. It was at that point we called Wyckoff Heating and Cooling and personally met with Dan. What a gentleman and professional he is! Dan looked at our existing system, diagnosed what was going on with it, and then patiently took the time to explain what our options were for purchasing a very high quality Lennox HVAC system. We couldn't be more pleased and excited to have our new system installed. I must share that I received a total of 5 different bids for the project and carefully reviewed the pros and cons of each one. It was Dan who sold me on the Wyckoff company and it's quality Lennox brand. Kudos go out to this tremendous employee for delivering such outstanding service to a new client. Read moreWe were having problems with our AC unit last summer. The technician came out and looked at it. Said the problem was in the furnace as the electronic board had shorted out. They replaced the board ($900) and the AC worked ! .... for about a week. Then it quit again. Technician came back out and checked it and said the electronic board had shorted out ..again. No charge this time, but checked the AC unit and found it was 31 yrs old..... TIME TO RETIRE !
So we set up a time to meet with the Rep. from Wyckoff, Dan. A very nice man, not pushy or anything, but layed out what he thought we needed. Decided to replace BOTH furnace and AC as furnace was also over 15 yrs old and we were tired of the trouble it was causing. {15 yrs is the life expectancy of a furnace}.
The installation crew came out to install both. Just happened that this was the time we were hit with the derecho too. Our power was out for 4 days ! I set up lights and my generator for them. Two days later it was DONE ! When The power came on EVERYTHING worked fine ! We DID have to have the furnace tweaked up this winter though, but another very nice young man. Came out in the evening and got the job down.
Very happy with our NEW furnace and AC now. Have recommended Wyckoff to several other people since ! It WOULD be nice though IF Wyckoff gave out incentives for referrals !...
Read moreWyckoff has always been great for us going back to 2001. Other competitors have tried to upsell or tell us our equipment needed replacing. Wyckoff has done terrific annual maintenance on our AC and furnace.
When we finally decided to buy a new furnace and AC (after 21 years of trouble-free use), Wyckoff sales gave us several bids to think about, did a nice job explaining the difference between equipment and brands. We did not solicit other bids because we just want to work with Wyckoff, they are that good where it does not make sense to call anyone else. We maybe could have saved some money on no-name equipment but well known, local heating and cooling contractors flat out lied to us about our equipment and we decided let's just deal with Wyckoff and not worry about getting scammed by others.
The furnace and AC were installed in a day and the installers knew what they were doing. Of course it's brand new so everything is great but I don't anticipate any problems. We'll use Wyckoff for our annual tune-ups and we anticipate good service life and reliability and support from Wyckoff. They have been honest and reliable and y'all don't need to go...
