I had been having pain in my hip and it occurred to me - maybe my mattress is getting old (I purchased it 10 years ago, USED!), and it’s contributing to my pain. I did a bunch of research on mattresses for side sleepers, read reviews from professional reviewers and consumers, etc. I was honing in on the Helix brand - seemed like a good balance of price, comfort and quality. I had also settled on a hybrid. I visited my local Mattress Firm store and tried a bunch of the well known brands like Sealy, Tempur-pedic, Beauty Rest. The sales person was a typical in your face, overly friendly, over confident yapper - a motormouth of data, mentioning name after name of different makes and models, which left me more confused than when I went in. It also felt like he was steering me to the pricier options. He acted like we were making progress on whittling down the choices and assumed I was gonna buy by the time I left. Wrong. In any case, I tried to find a place that had Helix mattresses in the showroom so I could try it and found one 20’ away called Golden Dreams Mattress. Unfortunately, it was a brand new business and the Grand Opening was 3 weeks away. I didn’t want to wait, so I reached out to the number on the site. Nate, the owner, answered and told me he was happy to make an appointment for me to come in. Nate was very knowledgeable, explained why Helix is one of the few brands he decided to rep in his shop, provided real advice, and wasn’t pushy. I tried the mattress and loved it. He helped me order it, arranged for my old mattress to be picked up on the same day it was going to get delivered - which happened only 3 days later! I initially called Golden Dreams to ask some questions about mattresses. At first it sounded like they didn’t have what I was looking for. Nate was full of answers to all my questions. He never once tried to sell me on something. It’s because he never tried to sell me something, I called back a week later to schedule an appointment to visit the showroom. I was immediately impressed with his inventory and layout. The showroom is very inviting and not overwhelming with too many options. Of all the mattress stores I visited, he was the one I felt most confident and comfortable giving my business to. The white glove service was an added bonus. The last thing I wanted to do was carry a mattress up a spiral staircase. Not only did they get it up the stairs, but they unpacked it and placed it on my bed frame.
