Skate Park — Attraction in Carlsbad

Carlsbad skatepark is one of the best parks for beginner skateboarders in north county. It doesn’t have to be a premier skatepark for it to be valuable. The small and mellow obstacles are ideal for those learning skatepark terrain and etiquette for the first time. Fortunately Alga Norte is about 5 minutes away for those who demand a perfectly built park with more advanced options.

Skateparks are a place for those enjoying and progressing their craft. They are not jungle gyms. Allowing your kid to freely roam and play around on the obstacles while cutting off people is a reflection of your ignorance. Please teach your children respect and etiquette at skateparks, no matter where they are. You wouldn’t allow your kid to run through a soccer match or golf course, so please give skateboarders that same consideration. Chill little spot to roll around, don't expect anything big to skate. The transitions are not curved, they're straight. Old park...old construction, the ground is very rough and if you fall onto your skin, you will get road rash. So, wear long sleeves and pants to protect you, this concrete isn't the kind that slides. The park does have lights and is open later. It's located right next to the fire station...
