I have never been so disrespect as I was today. 4/29/2017 I drove to Carlsbad with my son and a friend and her daughter. We traveled to Carlsbad for Special Olympics and my friend Carol asked if we could stop by Skeens since the meet was rained out. We stayed in Carlsbad long enough to go to Skeens. As we walk in the lady we met seemed nice when I stood with my friend Carol. When Carol walked away the lady said....and I will quote "Honey all of our name brand stuff is in this side of the store but if you need to see stuff that's not so expensive you will need to go to the building next door." I just looked at her in a weird way and when she made this statement Carol was taking her daughter to the restroom and began looking. I DECIDED to go to the restroom and when I came out Carol said Sarah I am going upstairs and look around. I said ok. So I began looking at recliner and found one that I thought would go nicely in my house. A man from the store walks over to my son and I and said leave and quit loitering if you're not going to buy nothing. Get on out of here and don't sit on my furniture. I could not believe in this day and time. 2017 a man would be so disrespectful to another human being. I had the money to buy the chair and he lost business and Carol said she was about to buy a lamp upstairs had we not come and got her. He followed my son and I to the door saying go on there's no parade here and yall can go. SKEENS HAS RACIST PEOPLE WORKING THERE! LORD HAVE MERCY ON HIS SOUL CAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN JESUS WALKING BY. I ask the Lord to help me be the bigger person. I will not allow anyone to tell me I'm not worthy because what man doesn't allow God has...

My wife and I are a fairly young couple (mid 20s) and we came in looking for a headboard and were also open to shopping for recliners. We were working with a budget of ~$1000. Our saleslady immediately came to us and asked what we were looking for, which is great but she immediately labeled us as 'modern millennials' and made poor product recommendations and did not seek to understand our needs any further. She was clueless we also were in the market for a rocking chair even though she found us sampling the rocking chairs. We felt dismissed and shooed away. We certainly did not feel welcomed.

We were greeted by a nice gentleman. He asked if he could help us find what we were looking for. I explained what we wanted to see and he said he thought they had just what I wanted. Sure enough they had two sets of sofas that fit what I wanted. He patiently answered my questions and watched me pass between both sets . He pointed out slight differences and watched me, waiting.
