Caverns Motel — Hotel in Carlsbad

We stayed at the Caverns Motel when we went to visit Carlsbad Caverns. We turned right at the light when we should have turned left (we would have come to some better quality motels with a more affordable rate). Instead we ended up at this motel. The manager said they did not have a non smoking room with one bed. Instead he gave us one with two beds and charged ten dollars more-strange. The room was dirty-the floor was not vacuumed, the walls and inside door of the bathroom had dirty hand marks on them, the ceiling in the bathroom had mildew on the ceiling and there was no cover on the vent. The room looked like it had been painted by a child, with paint on the wallpaper and on the light covers, etc. The worst thing of all was that there were cigarette buts on the window sill. We do not smoke and we were told it was a non smoking room. My husband doesn't make waves. He was so tired from driving and he had already paid the ridiculous price of $84. with tax and all so we stayed. The bed linen seemed clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. I was very upset and felt ripped off. The manager simply said, "Oh sorry..." Charging these kinds of prices for such a place, the owner should and could refurnish this place. Manager should have refunded our money so we could have gotten a decent place-too late for us but for you--- Choose the motels on the south...

This motel is affordable and local friendly. The people who own it are very fast and helpful with payment and getting you your room card. However, the rooms are not properly cleaned/sanitized. I've worked for multiple B&Bs, hotels, and private owned businesses, and the site you walk into is quite horrendous here. Dirty feet prints ON THE WALLS, unchanged sheets with human hair from prior stay, unwashed quilt and pillow shams. Night stand drawer had a peculiar white powder substance inside of it, table had not been disinfected. Microwave and fridge were spotless, nonetheless. Make sure to invest your own portable lock for hotel doors before staying a night here. As a single woman with two young children, I was very worried about the safety and privacy of our well being while staying here. The locks were not properly reinforced, I did not sleep well with the riff raff coming in and out at all hours. For the price of the stay.. at least you have running water, cable, wifi, and a roof over your head for a night. Oh, and fresh...

Don't get me wrong they will bargain with you to help you meet for a discount site that will help you get cheap motels and travel prices but all they have is a fridge in a microwave for the kitchen cart they don't even give you complimentary shampoo or conditioner they only give you two towels but one washcloth there was a few black marks when you're standing in the shower and having a shower run on your back straight ahead all the way up at the top of the shower that wasn't from any of us that stayed here in the room that I rented there's no coffee pot so no coffee and they're not even coffee up in the office you wake up and get a dirty look from the housekeepers can't even get a extension for like 20 minutes 30 minutes from check out time because you checked into early even though you checked in at like 1: 30 and there wasn't even a housekeeper inside the house Keepers laundry room wasn't even open the lady told me she's not really pet friendly I had to really bribers let my dog stay here pay $15 for...
