Read moreIt’s not often that I find it obligatory to write a review, good or bad, and share it wifey across the many review sites, which shows that most food falls nicely within the culinary bell curve - neither offending nor commending - just satisfying for the need of the moment. Which is also why I am so excited to write this review for El Jimador, who’s staff and shall I say chef left me with a sense of awe… as if before El Jimador, in all my culinary wanderings, I had not really experienced Mexican food before. I was the bound soul in the allegory of the cave, who when freed to see reality, in the same moment, knew that the shadowy reality of the prior existence was now proven false. And I feel it necessary to call out to the masses! El Jimador! El Jimador! You must experience this wonder of wonders such that you may also know, must also know, and thereby at tue end of your days have realized a fulfilled life!
Our meals included their #2, the house speciality as well as a beef burrito, chicken burrito, chile relleno, and the churros and sopapilla. Sides of rice and beans. But I’d suggest that it doesn’t matter. I’m willing to bet everything they plate up is delicious. That go in there, close your eyes, and put your finger down on the menu, and order…you can’t go wrong. All I can say is go. I will promise you, you will not only NOT be disappointed, but you as well will be a converted...
Read moreI would give less than a star if I could. I had to wait a day to even do the review to calm down. I really wanted to like this place. Waited well over 30 minutes to get seated. Then people just walking in started getting seated without having to check in at least 4 groups of people seated before us that got their after us and didn't even have to get a buzzer check in thing. Told the lady who checked us in and got a blank stare as she walked off. Next let another worker know he gave us a table. Then proceeded to take an additional 40 minutes to get our food. Again people who ordered and were seated after us got their food first. Even people who were seated 30 minutes after us got their food first! The food was edible but nothing to write home about. I would pass on the gordita definitely. The chicken flauta was ok. Hubby said his plate was bland not very good. Taco is a store-bought taco shell. He was not thrilled with the chalupa. Have you set the enchilada in it taste like anything it was too bland. To end the night when the waitress made her appearance at our table after giving us our food. We asked for the check. Took over 15 minutes just to get the check. All in all left hangry the time spent their not was worth it. Again waited a night before writing the review because I needed to calm down. Left hangry and...
