Took my iPhone to get fixed after the screen shattered for the front and back November 3rd 2024 paid close to $500 with taxes for the front and back and I have the receipts. I was guaranteed the phone would work perfectly and that all parts would be original especially for the price I paid. Days after the phone started having issues turning all kinds of colors which I have proof that I attached with dates of how the phone was acting up but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because it seemed like theyāre a newer business in Carol Stream so I didnāt go back right away or make a complaint. When I go back first he tried claiming I had been there months ago which was false after pulling up my credit card charge the date was only a month. Then he tried saying the price I paid was for both front and back which obviously I know and that doesnāt discredit the fact that the phone was not working properly and even if that was the case still a lot of money even if it was split for each thing. We are talking about 200 some dollars for each thing. So he finally agreed to change the screen because apperantly it was the screen mind you he is the tech so he should know. So I go pick up the phone and not even 2 hours after the phone starts doing the same so I go back and he says itās the screen again and he didnāt have iPhone screens so I had to wait 2 days finally they āfix itā again and I pick it up and the phone starts doing the same thing. I go back and he says he will fix the screen AGAIN. At this point it was pretty obvious it was not the screen but yet he offers to fix the screen. So then I get a random phone call saying itās not the screen and thereās going to be an extra charge for another issue they found talking about $150-$200. I said absolutely not paying that. Then he gives me an example that has no type of connection to this situation he tries saying ā Itās like when you go to the gas station and you run out of gas are you going to come back to ask for more gasā I was flabbergasted at this example because how did you think these two things compare. I paid for a service, a service that was guaranteed the best. I didnāt pay for 3 gallons of gas that would OBVIOUSLY RUN OUT. No connection between those two things. Anyways I tell him Iām not paying that Iām picking up the phone do not do anything to it. We ended up agreeing that Iāll pick up the phone then I get another call from someone else saying weāre going to fix the phone with no charge but there is no warrantyā¦. Iām like ok didnāt ask to have it fixed because Iām not going to pay more but ok pick up the phone apperantly they put a timer on it to show that the phone was working for a while and now the phone is back to the same thing but obviously with no warranty canāt even go back and complain. If they are phone techs since the first time I took the phone they should have left it working perfectly and that way I would have saved myself the hassle of going back and forth with them.Such a scam and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give DF Wireless in Carol Stream, IL 6 stars out of 5, I would. Usman is an absolute miracle worker. I came in with a motherboard issue on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and within the SAME DAY, he had it completely fixed and running like new.
Hereās what happened: I had dropped my phone in water at the beach for just 5-10 seconds. It turned off and stayed that way for a week because I was out of the country. Desperate to get it fixed, I went to UBreakIFix in Wheaton, IL, where Aaron greeted me with, āIām the only tech on the floor,ā and proceeded to repeat that there were āno guaranteesā he could even turn my phone on. He outright said he couldnāt help with motherboard issues and told me it would take 2-3 weeks to fix. To make matters worse, despite my online appointment, I was made to wait while he helped other customers first. Needless to say, UBreakIFix was a total waste of time.
Then I found Usman at DF Wireless, and my experience could not have been more different. Heās polite, professional, and attentive. With 15 years of experience, Usman knew exactly what to do. His shop is clean and well-organizedāthis is no mall kiosk; itās a full-fledged repair business with the proper tools and expertise to get the job done. In just 3 hours, my phone was fixed. He didnāt oversell me, didnāt pressure me, and even offered flexible payment options. Usman assured me I could come back anytime if I had questions or issues.
I was skeptical about these types of repair shops, but Usman is the real deal. Iām already planning to bring him some older electronics that havenāt worked in years.
THANK YOU, USMAN. YOU ARE THE BEST! If you need any kind of electronics repair, go to DF Wireless. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLook, I went in for a quick battery replacement. 15 minutes in and out, I was happy, originally I was quoted 65 but the guy at the counter tried charging me 90. They ended up agreeing to 65 which was cool. A couple hours later my screen stopped working and it was getting worse by the minute. I texted the guy I had originally talked to and he said go back. Apparently whoever I spoke with over text wasn't a part of the place I went to, he owned a different store in the old mall that is now closed.
I went in and they showed me my screen had been cracked and they didn't do it. I said I know, it's been that way for a year and a half. I've had no problems until now. Until they messed with the phone. They put the old battery back in and gave me a refund. That's the only reason they didn't get 1 star. When I went to T-Mobile I was informed that pulling off the back and replacing the battery probably triggered the screen issues even if they didn't actually touch the screen. All they had to do in the beginning is tell me I would either need a new screen or opening the phone could cause problems. The guy fixing the phone doesn't speak English, which is fine but to manage a store simply over the phone is going to cause issues. Poor reviews are not to hurt the business but to help fix...
