WOW ! So I’m going to provide a lot of details here which may come across like I know the owners —- promise I just met Michelle & Natalie yesterday - BUT they make you feel like Family in their home when dining with them.
First off - who knew there was so much creativity and passion happening at Legends ?
Six of us dined in and we went for a tapas style of eating sharing everything so that we could try as many things as possible which was a ton of FUN !
Hearing that their drink menu changes monthly as well as a monthly special pizza rotates on the menu means we already need to go back for May’s Mexican pizza. (We did try 3 of the May cocktails though)
We ordered - chicken Caesar Pizzalata (longest prep lead time so ordered immediately) APPS - fried pickles - cheesy giardiniera bread - garlic parm wings - bbq wings MAIN - johns beef n gravy pizza (giardinera on the side vs on it) - breaded steak sandwich - 1/2 slab of ribs w/rings
Dessert - tiramisu (both regular & lemon berry) - lemon ice - cannoli (2 regular 2 peanut butter / chocolate)
YES it was lots and lots of food - BUT having read quite a few reviews in advance we had the unique pizzas and cheesy giardinera bread on our MUST TRY list and then filled in with other choices.
I don’t recall the last time we dined anywhere and made to feel like family from every staff member in the place. You just don’t find that.
Honorable mentions - Johns beef & gravy pizza surprised all of us with just how delicious it was. If you are a salad lover and like pizza crust - give a Pizzalata a try - the quality parm used on the Caesar was perfect. HOMEMADE BBQ sauce - pretty certain I’ve never tasted a BBQ sauce with the depth of flavor this one has. It is not sweet - it just is yummy.
I got so involved with trying everything - didn’t get photos of everything.
One quick item to note - I had only looked at the menu on their website in advance by scrolling - I hadn’t clicked on the “order now” button going to the toasttab link - many of the monthly menu items as well as the soon to be famous Johns beef & gravy pizza are not on the website.
Also note - they just expanded taking over the 154 address for additional seating. We dined at 5:30 to make sure we could get a table with ease (round table is added bonus & perfect for...
Read moreUpdate April 2024: Ordered again via online with delivery. Pizza was promised for delivery in 60-65 minutes and was at my door exactly when promised. Ordered a sausage pizza again to compare to last time and also got a tiramisu. The pizza arrived warm (not hot) with golden color cheese and a cracker thin crust. Crust was improved, light and buttery. This time the sausage pieces were larger (with great flavor) and cheese was good (I do like that the cheese is not greasy at all). Tiramisu was very tasty. Overall, I am going to update to 4/5 stars.
This is a new pizza place that just opened early March 2024. Placed order via phone. Was a little surprised they didn't ask for a name. Ordered a large cheese and sausage. Pizza was promised to be ready in 25-30 min, and when I arrived just before the 30 min mark I was greeted and they asked what my order was (since they didn't take my name I am guessing why they asked what I ordered). Pizza was brought to me immediately and I was on my way.
The pizza business in this area is very competitive so you really need to set yourself apart. The crust was average, didn't have the salty crunch of a tavern style pizza and really didn't taste like it was freshly made. The sauce was mild, without much distinction. The cheese blend was odd and produced a lot of grease which soaked into the crust. It had a decent flavor but I usually prefer more mozzarella over other cheeses. What disappointed me the most was the sausage. The sausage pieces were small and didn't produce much flavor compared to what else you can find in the area.
Overall this first experience was average but I think there is some potential here. Their prices are very reasonable. I am going to give this place another try in a few weeks when they have some more pies under their belt and...
Read moreWe were very excited being a business in the area, to get a new pizza place for lunch. The people upon entering for our pick up were very pleasant. We ordered the Italian Beef and Giardiniera pizza and fries. The pizza was very good and much better than a lot of the pizza joints in the area. One notable item is the sauce, it is very flavorful and the perfect amount was on the pizza. It did give off the impression it may be from scratch but I may be wrong. It was definitely not your typical canned sauce most places use. The cheese was a perfect blend and the ingredient also did not lack flavor and were plentiful. The pizza was greasy, as most are, but not more that the average pizza place and was enjoyable. I would like to disagree with a prior review stating this place has tough competition. Of all the pizza places in the area I would put them in the top 2 and personally I would rather support a small business versus a chain. The only one thing I would recommend improvement on, is the fries were a little soggy for my liking, crispier would be a little better but definitely not a deal breaker. I look forward to trying more items :) and will be...
