Out of My Mindesigns — Local services in Carson City

I knew that I had needed a place that would be able to sew some patches onto a Cape for my nephew, and I didn't know if that was possible. When I called, Out of My Mindesigns, to ask about it, I had talked with Josh, and he was very helpful, friendly and understanding, about the special requests, I had needed. My nephew has several, life-threatening food allergies. If he comes into contact with any item or surface, that has any trace of the food allergen, his body's reaction of breaking out in itchy hives, swelling, and his throat and airway, would begin to close. So it's very serious. As I explained this, to Josh, he assured me that he would be able to safely and quickly sew these patches on for me, and that he would thoroughly clean the workspace he would need to sew my nephew's Cape, and that he would make sure to wash his hands before handling it. I was comfortable and felt at ease, with Josh working on the Cape for me, and he was done, in less than 5 minutes! I am so happy with the whole experience, and the finished product. I hope that he sees this review but I don't know that he will. Now that Jo-Ann's is closed I went hunting for some fabric and was going to see if he had what I was looking for cuz it was something very specific and I found out he's close. This makes me very sad! Not only was his shop a place that I could find obscure Fabrics all the time but I loved the thrift store too.

he was just all around an amazing person! I used his store once to finish a quilt that I was working on because I didn't want to put it on the ground at my house. He was always so reasonably priced and just fun to be around.

I had an incredible experience here. They reupholstered my cherished, handed-down dining room chairs that were worn from a literal lifetime of use.
