This is a very beautiful course. I would highly recommend playing The Empire Ranch Golf Course. I was simply a mom tagging along behind my daughter, during a Girls' Golf tournament. I should start by saying that the leadership of this course allowed the hosting team to use their course for their "home" tournament, when their home course was not available for the tournament. That was special and awesome enough, but past that, they went above and beyond to be helpful, hospitable, and accomodating to all the players, coaches, and parents that attended. For me, personally, the gentlemen that helped me just renting a cart, so that I could follow along and keep up, were super friendly and I really appreciated that. The course itself is beautiful, and so peaceful and quiet. There are a few dry spots, maybe from the extra hot summer, but they are clearly being tended to and in recovery, so still in really great shape. It is a good challenging course, plenty of natural hazards, which are very interesting, and while you'd want to avoid them with your ball, lol, they made for some of my favorite photos that I took throughout the day. Cart paths are in very good shape, love the little bridges, not even a handful of rough spots throughout, and again, even those few also look like they are getting the same continuing maintenance and TLC that the rest of the course is clearly getting. I would expect to have a good start, good service, a good game, and a good time here. Big thank yous again to those that extended themselves to take on the large tournament today. It, and your hospitality, was much appreciated, especially by this senior's mom, getting to see her play one last time, and at such a beautiful...
Read moreSo first and foremost I will say don’t give this course your money. The course itself is in horrendous condition. The fairway is tore up with no margins between rough, ground under repair, and any discernible fairway. The majority of the course is overrun with weeds. If you attempt to tee off before 10am you are met with soppy conditions with greens being completely drenched. Sprinklers will be running as you attempt to navigate the course. The amenities, let’s just say are non existent. There is no cart girl. The driving range grass is nothing but tore up and you’ll be hitting out of divots and off dirt. The practice balls look like they haven’t been replaced since the early 2000s. The carts are barely operational. Torn seats with patches, brakes that hardly work. No charging ports and most don’t even have windshields. The cart I had today the roof was coming off and the bag strap on the back was busted forcing me to continually tighten it every few holes to keep my bag on. The Marshal/Starter on the course is the rudest, probably most arrogant person I’ve ever met. On a packed Sunday we were harassed about pace of place when we were on a standard 4:30 hour round. This place wants to take your money and offer you the trashiest round in the Reno/sparks/carson area. Don’t waste your money, go play any other course. You can go across the street and play a course in much better...
Read moreTerrible experience. Me and my group were checking in for our 10:51 tee time when 2 guys cut in front of us and were let in to start an 18 because they were “friends of the owner”. We then get out to the first hole when an older gentleman from the pro shop was being extremely rude to us and made my brother pay to rent his own bag of clubs even though we were playing on teams in a scramble. Then he proceeds to berate us and tell us about how young people are ruining the game and saying we are the reason they are backed up even though they let in guys who had no tee time scheduled! My brother then returns with rental clubs from 90s with the employee talking all through his backswing then scoffs and laughs when he hits a not so great shot with bad clubs that he made him rent! Other than our personal experience, if the course was decent it could have made up for all of that, but if you want a rude staff, broken up fairways with large patches of dirt, rickety old carts, and greens covered in duck feces this...
