I wouldnât recommend The Vineyards for the following reasons:
The community pool is closed most of the year. Either due to maintenance, or literally just because they have a very slim annual window where they allow residents to swim in the pool.
There are way too many people that cannot speak any English here. Which wouldnât be such a problem, except for when you try to ask them to keep the noise down, and they just look at you like they donât understand, because apparently they were told that Cartersville is also the city that never sleeps⌠Oh and the property manager refuses to get involved in noise complaints⌠And I guess Iâm too nice to call the Police to come handle it, because Iâm sure theyâve got better things to doâŚ
Kids roam the community largely unsupervised, which means you can expect to find them yelling at the top of their lungs, in or around the breezeway, especially when school is out.
Kids routinely bang on my door and run away before I can ask them not to do this, because it upsets my dogs, who then bark, who then wake up my children who are then prevented from taking their daily nap.
A few of the underage Latinos that live here, can often be found in the tree line behind the community, where they engage in drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes, and they leave trash, and broken bottles all over the place, making it risky at best to walk my dogs in the forest behind the community.
The neighbors above us just canât seem to understand, that because the unit they are currently in has flooded before, their floor boards (which are our ceiling joists by the way) creak and crack so loud sometimes I wonder if they may give out one of these days. Iâm not asking them to not enjoy their apartment, but they clearly have someone living up there that either hasnât discovered the balls of their feet yet, or just doesnât give a flip what we are forced to listen to from 6-10pm, and sometimes later, most nights.
I donât feel that these apartments are priced competitively enough, especially considering the deteriorating condition of the units, and the aforementioned state of the community itself. Like, I understand apartment living is not for everyone, but at least do something, other than just cite your flaccid and useless position that you âdonât discriminate, and anyone is welcome as long as they meet the requirements to apply.â I donât pay to live in this community, so the Property Manager can sit on their hands about the aforementioned concerns, but then turn around and harass the residents that donât do any of those things, and threaten said residents with fines for âunsightlyâ porches. So, I guess looks are everything here at The Vineyards. As long as they can fool people into thinking that the community looks nice on the outside, people wonât really care about anything else.
Well, at least thatâs been my take, and my experience.
But hey, if none of this makes you reconsider living here⌠I tried...
Read moreThis has to be the most expensive apartment Iâve ever rented as well as poorly managed. This isnât going to be put together well but thereâs a good bit of negative feedback to put here. For starters my girlfriend and I would receive random charges every so often. One example would be forcing people renting who had pets to register it to some website that charged. In the summer of 2020 our AC went out completely. It took three months to get a new unit installed. So the apartment never got below 80 degrees for May, June and July. We were never compensated what so ever. We received a portable AC unit that had to run 24/7 just to keep the place at a livable temperature. Even this was taken from us after having three days because they needed to use it for someone else! We went on another week with AC before they finally fixed it. The bugs were horrible all of the time. They charged up for chemical treatment monthly but the place was only treated once and the bugs didnât seem to even mind the chemicals. They towed my girlfriends car whoâs registration was expired by less than 24 hours in the middle of the PANDEMIC. This place was the absolute worst. You are better off paying more money going literally anywhere else. We put in at least 20 work orders the last year we were here and 90% of them were never even addressed. Bartow county comes in usually once a month at least to arrest someone or deal with some issue. The people who manage the place are nice but really have no idea as to what they are doing. Most of the time you see them on the golf cart talking to one another. We arenât the only ones with this opinion and problems we have had friends live here as well with the same problems. I donât know where someone came up with the price for rent here but it is way over for what you will actually get. The quality of the apartments themselves are rough. Since the day we moved in the floor was peeling, laundry doors not even attached and all the blinds were messed up. Not a single thing was ever replaced or fixed by them I did a lot of the work myself. In the end we received a little over $200.00 from our deposit, doesnât make sense when the place looked better leaving then when we got there. On top of this itâs not addressed correctly so I doubt they will fix this so we probably will not be getting anything in return. Highly advise going anywhere else if it can be afforded this place is so poorly managed and kept up with. There were many more issues than this that I canât remember but I believe this will be good enough to get my...
Read moreI lived here for 3 years and 11 months. Always paid the rent early, never, ever late. In all this time, not a single improvement was made. Every year the rent was raised, for nothing. Need something repaired? Good luck with that. No one answers the phone, so you have to leave a maintenance request message, that is never responded to, no matter how many times you leave one. They have office hours posted, but again, good luck with that. Many times the door would be locked and the blinds closed during posted open hours, and even though there was someone inside, they would not answer the door, even at the first of the month. For the first 3 and a third years, I paid the rent (always early) from my banks online bill pay, until they âlostâ my payment and tried to say I never paid was even told it was my problem after I presented proof of payment from my bank. Now they are trying to claim my security deposit was substantially less than what I actually paid, while trying to claim there was over $100 in âdamagesâ. An entire day was spent cleaning the empty apartment before returning the keys, and there was absolutely no damage. The apartment was much cleaner when I left than when I moved in. The tenant before me had kept two German Shepherd dogs inside the 800 square foot apartment and it was a mess. They started charging residents for the power to the parking lot lights, water for the pool, pest control, etc. the rent is never consistent from one month to the next because of this. The pest control is a huge joke. They charge the residents for these things, yet the pool is overrun in the summer by kids from the surrounding neighborhood, since itâs not locked. The âmanagementâ is ever changing. If you are thinking about moving here, donât. Most residents seem to last a...
