Food Lion — Local services in Cary

I had one of the worst shopping experiences in my life ever today at this Food Lion location. I've been shopping at this Food Lion for many years, and this is the worst I've seen it. They used to have the best produce, but that has gone downhill over the past year with less options/quantity and definite reduction in quality. I was just there tonight, with the coupon machine's blown speaker(?) yelling constant messages -- how do the employees deal with that all day? The broccoli is rubbery and turning brown, the grapefruit also past their prime... last week it was the already expired seafood salad. There are rolls of paper towels absorbing the condensation in the freezer aisles (but WalMart and Harris Teeter don't have that problem), and the shelves which would normally have the refrigerated pasta have been completely bare for multiple weeks with no sign of explanation/apology/re-direct... What the heck?! You have a brand new complex of high-end potential customers right next door who need to count on quality food. Up your game Food Lion or step aside for another grocery store who will gladly hire your...

I didn't believe the hype. I was not going to be taken in by the commercials that touted saving on a grand scale by shopping at Food Lion. Was I surprised when I actually did visit the Food Lion on Kildaire Farm in Cary. First, the store was very clean and spacious. There was actally enough room to roam the aisles without bumping into a fellow shopper. The customer service was some of the best I have encountered ever! There were smiles, asking if they could assist and thanks for my patronage.

To top the entire experience was the fact that you COULD actually save the money that the commercials promised. Truth in advertising! Who knew!! I am now a convert.
