Absolutely absurd pricing. I ordered a roll and two nigiri, totaling about $16. I recieved literally the tiniest sushi roll I've ever seen. Six teaspoon sized pieces, and nigiri is sold in single pieces, not in pairs like most sushi restaurants. Someone else at my table ordered a bento for around $11, and got a large roll, 9 pieces of sashimi, three nigiri, and two small fried roll pieces. Can you see the problem here? I spent more and barely got an appetizer. It wasn't a fancy order either. Spicy tuna rolls are an affordable staple of sushi in the US. Onto the quality, it was low. I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants in my time, and I expect better. The had been frozen and thawed, losing most of it's flavor and ruining the texture. The "spicy" tuna roll had tiny dots of tuna that sat on top, making them look bigger without going all the way through each piece, and were almost entirely flavorless. The service wasn't great either. The staff were harried and snippy, even though the restaurant was not crowded, and did not spend any time trying to make interactions pleasant. Once one person at our table had finished their order, and at point before they had finished, the waitress simply said "Next." with a hint of annoyance. -3 stars for poor fish, service, portions and pricing. The rice, Thai tea, and oranges that came with the bento were nice, so +1 stars for that. Very disappointing.

This is one of the best Japanese/Thai restaurants in the triangle. We got two sushi rolls and two Thai dishes -- Pad See Ew and Pad Chao Ban. All of it was excellent! The sushi tasted very fresh and was well made. The other food had great flavor. I was a bit worried about getting the Pad See Ew with the traditional wide rice noodles since they don't allow substitutions, but they cooked the noodles perfectly. We got both dishes medium spicy and it wasn't overdone. It's not cheap food (our total was over $60), but price-wise everything seemed to be equivalent to what others charge. The garnish they place on the plates seems unnecessary and just takes up space. I definitely think the portions of their Thai dishes could have been bigger, but at least the quality made up for the size. Parking here is very easy and plentiful since they are located in a shopping center. The restaurant inside has a comfortable atmosphere and dim lighting. The staff were nice and apparently it's popular to celebrate birthdays here -- there were 3 during our visit. Our waitress was very friendly but kept socializing with folks at another table, so the service was not the best in that regard. I really appreciate that there were floater wait staff keeping an extra eye on tables and assisting with drink refills and providing doggie boxes. Otherwise we would have been very thirsty and annoyed with empty cups.

Quite simply the best massaman curry I've ever had. See I think that sushi is pretty hard to mess up. Take fresh fish, a clean restaurant and a staff that cares and you can make pretty good sushi. That being said sushi Thai makes really really good sushi. But, what impresses me more are the incredible curries this place makes and they make the king of curry, massaman, frankly better than anywhere else I've ever tried it. The staff is lovely, I've taken multiple dates here and not one has ever had a bad time, most have raved about it months after the fact. It's just a pity they are further away than I'd like to drive. Even the simple act of giving you a free seaweed salad when you make lunch hour is delivered with care and appreciation for you the customer. I can almost never take pictures of their food before I eat it all, because it's just that good. Try them out, ask for Thai hot and cry tears of joy at some of the best food Cary has to offer.

Very expensive compared to what it used to be and other options locally, service was quite slow and I was done eating by the time my friends' food came out. I wondered if we had been forgotten about multiple times.

As for the food, the yakitori chicken was disappointing and bland. The sauce for it was watery and too sweet, and it tasted like the chicken itself hadn't been seasoned. My Tom kha soup was fine, though not remotely spicy and the chicken was dry. I didn't realize the portion was so much smaller than the Japanese soups when I was choosing, and there were only three chunks of button mushroom in it, not even shiitake. The "spicy" tuna roll I ordered was also not spicy and was oddly sweet, and kinda fishy/off tasting (maybe it was eel sauce?). The ratio of fish to rice was off as well-too much rice! I would have ordered something else if I knew but I figured spicy tuna was hard to screw up.

My friend's chicken teriyaki was the same chicken as the yakitori, and very expensive. The only veggies it came with were decorative and in very small quantities, not at all something you could mix together and have a proper meal of with the small portion of rice provided. The curry another friend ordered was pretty good but nothing special. The udon was firmly okay and the broth tasted almost exactly like the miso soup. My friend mostly ate the noodles and left a lot behind so I don't think he liked it very much.

The sushi boat was the best part, and the sashimi was very nice and fresh in good sized portions. It didn't seem like we could substitute what was on it, and what it came with wasn't in the menu, so I'm glad we brought someone who likes octopus. The nigiri wasn't as good and had too much rice. The fried roll it came with I didn't like, tasted too strongly fishy.

We were not offered to order dessert, and out meals came out at different times. The wait was very long despite being the second group seated after the restaurant opened, relatively simple orders, and only being a group of four. There were people who came in later ordering and receiving their food before we did. The forced 20% gratuity was not appreciated given the poor service and high prices.

Overall, I would not go here again. It ended up being about 50$ a person for disappointing food and long waits in a noisy, crowded restaurant. I feel like our time and money were disrespected, and we would have been happier going to the nearby taco bell.

Parking was good at least, and Hangar 18 next door is a hidden gem of...

My wife and I have been overlooking this place for quite awhile. We'd eye it now and then on our way to Corbett's or Big Lots. I figured it couldn't be that could because the location isn't the best. After reading the Yelp reviews we decided to try it. Right when we walked in I was a little worried. Not because the place looked bad, it was actually the opposite. Sushi Thai is very nice inside and almost upscale looking. I felt at first that I might have needed reservations and was maybe under dressed. I also wondered if my kids would have us leaving this place in a matter of minutes. I scanned the room and found the attire of the customers varied and the service staff was very friendly. I was a little confused by the hot towel we all received before eating our meal. Never experienced that before.

We ordered the Chicken Katsu, Chicken Tempura and Pad Thai noodles. The kids started to get restless and thank god the Miso Soup came quickly. The soup was great and after our kids had a few samples my wife and I both had to surrender our bowls to them. The kids liked the soup so much we had to ration them or they would have filled up on that. When the food came the presentation was amazing. The Fried Tempura was arranged in a cool looking structure. The Katsu Chicken looked delicious as well as the Pad Thai. My wife was a little confused about what exactly Tempura was. She didn't realized the texture and just how fried the food would be. She could only eat so much and I had to agree unless that's your thing you can't eat a whole meal of that. My Pad Thai on the other hand was perfect and probably the best I've ever had. The Katsu Chicken was pretty much like other Thai-Japanese places I've been too. Overall I really enjoyed myself at Sushi Thai. The wait staff was very attentive and my kids managed to eat a meal with rice without leaving more than they ate on the floor.

We'll definitely be returning but probably without the kids. The restaurant is more of a casual/slash fine dining place and best suited for adults. They even have a sign on the door that says "Please Keep Your Children From Screaming and Throwing Food On The Floor." Maybe not those exact words but something like that. If you're in the Cary area and in the mood for Japanese or Thai check this place out. It's...

Ohh man this restaurant manager is such a commercial I can’t even explain.

We went for lunch and it was near to closing time. There was a lady at door and she gave us a place to seat and we waited for 10 mins no one showed up and we waved at some waiter then they took our order and since it was 30 mins to closing time we quickly gave our order and we also asked for dessert menu so we gave one ice cream tempura and mango sticky rice, we explicitly mentioned please bring out the desserts in the end so we can enjoy it.

First appetizer came out and then main course and dessert( fried ice cream) came out together, and the wonderful waiter said it will melt quickly. Me and my wife looked at each other and we were not sure what we have to do in that situation.

We ate our meal and then they bought out the sticky rice which is already plated and the rice and sugar thingy(white liquid) is not given and they said it’s already mixed with rice. This is the First time someone saying sticky rice doesn’t come with syrup.

We requested for Check and I gave tip for 3$ Then the furious lady restaurant manager came bragging behind us asking for more tip, my wife said this is what we can give but manager didn’t listen and she’s demanding for more tip and we have to pay and extra 3$ more dollars.

6$ tip is not my problem, the way they treat the customer is not acceptable.

If your waiter’s are not getting paid is not a customer responsibility, management has to take care of them. Are you guys giving free food or cut down prices to customers? No right then why owners are expecting/ keeping mandatory that customer has to tip?

If you’re doing some free service and expecting customers to tip then it’s a debatable issue but this restaurant has worse service than what you see in...
