Every since I met my husband who grew up in the Snohomish area, we would buy Aplets and Cotlets as gift souvenirs. We finally drove to Eastern Washington so we could visit the actual store. Wasn't too impressed with the three girls that stood behind the counter giggling, instead of assisting customers. There were about 7 of us in the store at the same time.My husband and I purchased about $90 worth of product and not one of the three employees could stop giggling long enough to say thank you,or have a nice day, or come back again. One thing I must point out is the new Orchard bars. Oh my wow! The most delicious bar I have ever eaten. Filled with nuts and seeds. We bought a box of the raspberry, strawberry walnut. Wished we would have purchased more of those instead of the Aplets and Cotlets. We did end up ordering more online. But they are less expensive at the store. The online price is raised and they charge for shipping too. The Aplets and Cotlets have changed the amount of nuts they add to the product. Mostly just a fruit gel dusted with powdered sugar now. Zoom in on the photo of my hand poised with an actual piece against the image on the box. They still taste amazing, but the walnuts were missed. Still deserves a 4 star rating. The product has a long history in that town. We were not able to tour the facility and we did not recieve free samples even though we asked questions about certain products, no offer to try the snack bars or orchard bars. Cashmere is worth a trip and the...
Read morethe store itself was awesome, aplets and cotlets are delicious and i was very excited for my husband to try them for the first time. when we were done shopping, we all checked out separately and it made me notice something that really bothered me. the cashier, sydnee, was pleasant with me and made small conversation with me. she gave the same service to my friend. for context, my friend and i are both white. my husband on the other hand is mexican and was not greeted and checked out with the same customer service we were. when he went to check out, sydnee didn’t greet him, didn’t make eye contact, didn’t make conversation. but worst of all she physically squished his individually wrapped aplets in her hand before and after scanning them, and slammed his box of aplets and colets onto the counter after scanning them. the only words she spoke to him were when she told him his total. makes me wonder if her motivations for being cold towards him and messing with the products he was buying had something to do with the fact that he isn’t white. it’s sad to see anyone get treated differently because of the color of their skin. i’d like to also mention that before any of us checked out, we overheard her checking out an older white man and was polite to him. all races of customers deserve to be treated equally, not only...

My stop was a refreshing breath of air....Thank you, candy factory !! ...
