Palm Springs Lanes — Local services in Cathedral City

As a local of the valley. I do not appreciate being hassled and or pocket gauged by folks who are in the business world who think that everyone in the valley is rich. (Which, by the way. When I made the comment. “So you guys are pocket gauging people with that extra 5$ shoe rental?” The young man agreed and said “pretty much”) And then also thinks it is okay to over price their product as if every thing in their business is worth the cost. First off… no one wants to spend 30$ to play a few bowling games and on top of that spend an extra 5$ to have on bowling shoes. Plus the kids running the bowling alley, seem to just be in the business to make easy money. And are okay with making locals of the area and out of towners pay the posted price as if the posted price is officially the best of all best posted prices. Look. The point here is…. This place has bad business practices. The energy and the atmosphere seemed like a lowball kind of place. The employees were not good business trained professionals and didn’t show that they really care about the people of the valley. It got to a point that if I was not open to paying the cost, they would have me escorted out. I told them I’d have the business shutdown and have everyone in it escorted out of the valley for over price negligence and pocket gauging. You may think this is out of place. But what I experienced was not good morale business from the staff. And all it seemed like was that they just care about money and they don’t care who gets charged and they dont care about people of the valley and definitely not any guests of the valley either. Let this be a warning for everyone in the valley. You do not want to do business here. They only care about what they want and not about you really. It’s not a matter of not being able to cover the cost…. But for a single bowler to pay 30$ for the hour and 5$ more dollars for some dirty shoes total of 35$+ tax is…. Well, is enough for a whole bowling team to play (so I think) I come from a family of 8. I know what it’s like to see prices go up because the more kids you have the bigger the amount on the check becomes. But as a single man and just looking for a moment to get away from the day to day life and I come in to bowl a few games alone….. spending 35$+tax for a hr of play time is not worth the bowling time. And I’m not paying for 3 employees hour of work. If each employer makes 10$ an hour. So for every, 1 bowler, that pays the 35$ to play + rent a pear of shoes, you are paying for 3 employees. And I know theres a good amount a revenue being made… but to be honest. The inside looks old and the energy didn’t seem welcoming. I felt like I was walking into a bad dark movie scene. Like I was walking into a toxic relationship haha. So just for all the people of the valley….. when you go to bowl here. Just know they’re okay with over pricing and making the valley have a bad reputation and also just really bad...

Palm Springs lanes is older and smaller then others however there lanes are a lot better and your bowling balls perform a lot better! I went with a few friends last Friday to another bowling alley and the lanes sucked the bowling ball would only go straight down the lane no matter how your throw was or what you did! So with that being said you will get better performance and hooks and curves with your ball at Palm Springs Lanes! And don’t let me forget to mention there Pro Shop had all kinds of stuff and the pro shop owner Benzo was amazing and he know what he’s doing! So if your just starting out bowling make sure you go see the man Benzo and the Palm Springs Lanes Pro shop to get all you bowling , bags and shoes and whatever else you might need from beginner to pro you’ll find it there! And like I mentioned earlier I went with a group to another alley and we checked out there probably shop at the other alley and the selection and store we dam near empty no selection or products to choose from! Showed up, got our lane for 60$, there was a family of 12 majority of which were taking up out lane table. We tried to get them to move and then they graciously allowed us to enter our names into our lane board. We then attempted to work around them and play regardless, at which point our lane not only did not light up, but counted for strikes every time, regardless of gutter or not. We were finally able to talk to the guy at the counter who got the family to move somehow but did not fix the lane. At which point another mother letting her children run around ran into us! We packed our stuff up and they actually provided a refund.. it would be one star but the guy at the counter was...
