I almost never leave reviews (this may be my 2nd or 3rd ever) but this just kept bothering me. Went last week after hearing such great things about this place and I will say the produce and some other products are really great quality!
However, I am giving them 3 stars cause these people were so rude. I was shopping in that store for about 30 min (literally just me and the owners in there)...did not get a greeting, did not get asked if I needed help, did not get acknowledged at all. Both the lady and the man passed by several times (the store is super small). Another guy came in purchased something real quick (one of the owners acknowledged him) and left. I was alone again and shopped for about 15 more min.
Finally did ask a couple of questions about 2 products and they were legit irritated that I was asking them questions. Like not even trying to hide their irritation.
Finally, I was over it and brought my stuff to check out. I had 2 baskets (one I put on the floor right by the counter earlier cause it was getting heavy.) I put the 1st basket on the counter and the man ringing me up, doesn't speak, doesn't look at me, nothing. Finishes ringing the 1st basket...then I plop the 2nd basket on the counter. His demeanor changes and his response is and I quote: "oh damn!"
All of sudden he's friendly, the woman comes from the back and starts helping ring up...all of sudden she's friendly, asks me if found what I needed, starts making comments about some of the items I'm purchasing...they both all of sudden acknowledged my existence after (in my opinion) how much they saw I was spending there (it was over $200).
Also, some of the pre packaged stuff is way over priced items that you can get much cheaper at any regular grocery store.
I dont look like the "typical" shopper at an organic/crunchy store so, not sure if that was the issue or if they were both having a terrible day or what but, I will not be returning. I did not feel welcome there at all. At a small organic place like this, I expected better customer service or at the very least for the workers to not be noticeably annoyed at a customer for asking a question...I can just go to Walmart for that lol. It's a shame cause the produce is...
Read moreThe Market at Cedar Point located at 1046 Cedar Point Blvd, Cedar Point, NC can be... well... to say the least a life changing experience filled with healthy and culinary satisfaction. The little market has built a solid network of local farmers, and producers of everything from pork to beef, poultry and free range eggs to micro greens... Farm Fresh Milk in real glass bottles, keto foods, fresh vegetables and fruits, honey and homemade breads.... Even specialty meats like lamb, duck, rabbit, and more. On the weekends farm markets and craft shows... and... even whole bean coffees, herbs, spices, grains.... They even have ICE CREAM, low carb... low sugar... unique sodas that are actually healthy... natural butter... cheeses... specialty soaps, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Frankly I don't know how they fit so much into that tiny little store on the Bogue Shore in Cedar Point... but I am glad they do. I followed the wisdom they shared with me, lost over 184 pounds... and got my A1C back to normal... And the local artists who create the crafts that are in the outdoor market are incredible... It would be virtually impossible to walk through the indoor and outdoor market and not find something you love. If you are looking to live a healthier lifestyle... or just have a really pleasant shopping experience where you feel like you matter.... I strongly recommend...
Read moreMy friend brought me here for the first time. I have lived in Jacksonville North Carolina for 3 years now. I moved from the San Francisco Bay area in California. In California, this market, is how they advertise their farmers markets and outdoor events. But then you go and it's completely flooded by tourists, there's trash everywhere, it's noisy, you can't actually buy anything because they don't take your form of payment or it's sold out or some other excuse. The market at cedar point however, Is the quintessential farmers an artist's market experience. There was live music at a nice reasonable volume, there was a decent amount of people coming and going so it wasn't overcrowded, the prices for these handmade and organic products were fair, but also reasonable. And the quality. Oh my gosh. We are already almost all the way through our Dutch kettle Huckleberry jam. Delicious. I plan on making a regular visit to this market with my family. I enjoyed my time so much here. And may even look into opening a booth...
