Pro Computers — Local services in Centennial

I brought my wife's little laptop in to Vince last summer to get repaired. The AC adapter would no longer charge the computer so we needed help to get that area of the laptop fixed. These guys did so for around $120 (half the price of the laptop really but we agreed to pay). Fast forward to February and the laptop has stopped charging once again. A little plastic piece fell off of the area where the Pro Computers guys worked on before. I brought the laptop back and filled out a form and left it with Vince. He told me he wasn't sure what the problem was or even if they could fix it, but that they would give us a free quote and let me know. Seemed fair enough. I made sure he knew this was essentially the same issue as the last time we brought it in. So I was patient and waited about 10 DAYS and didn't receive a phone call from these guys. I finally decided to give them a call so I could see what was up with our laptop and why it was taking so long. Vince answered and it quickly became apparent that these guys didn't even bother to look at the laptop while they had it all that time. What's worse, is he quickly "diagnosed" the issue while on the phone with me (why couldn't he do that when I was there?) and then said all they could do for me is to charge me all over again for the same repair. He also pretty much accused me of letting our kids break the PC (there was a princess sticker we let our little girl put on the back of the netbook). After being treated this poorly I could not wait to get off the phone, so I pretty much said no thanks - it's not worth paying that much again.

To be honest, these guys really should have just provided better service and guaranteed their work from before. If they had just fixed the netbook for us without charging another $100+ I probably would have become a loyal longtime customer. Actually, if they had even just called me and been straight forward about not wanting to help us, that would have been good enough for me. Instead, I am left leaving you guys this review and warning you from ever coming here! Go elsewhere,...

My computer had a blue screen of death indicating an unrecoverable hardware error that caused it to continually crash every time I tried to reboot. I spent two days scanning memory and hard disks and reinstalling the operating system to no avail. I was extremely frustrated, as I can usually fix my own computer problems.

That's when I took it to Pro Computers to ask for help diagnosing and repairing the problem. I was expecting I had a failed motherboard, but after only a day, Vincent called me back saying that after replicating the problem and ruling out the memory and solid state hard drives as the culprit, he took out all the hardware out of the motherboard, cleaned all the connections, and reseated/reinstalled everything, on the off-chance that would fix the problem. Fortunately for me, that fixed the problem! He reloaded the operating system.

Furthermore, this was an off-brand computer that was bought out by another company -- the tech support number I had was no longer in service. He found the company that bought the old one, and went to their web site to download all the relevant drivers, and left links for me after the install so I could get back there. To do all this work cost only $200, and saved me at least $400 on getting a new motherboard, and probably weeks to actually locate and get the off-brand motherboard delivered. He explained what he did, and demonstrated the working computer when I came in to pick it up, and helped me install some other drivers that were missing before I took it home.

My gaming PC has been exhibiting power issues for awhile and the power unit finally gave up the ghost last week. This system is over 5 years old but has held up well for the types of gaming I do, and I wasn't quite ready to fully replace it. I've seen Vince's shop in my neighborhood (he said he's been there for 19 years!) and thought I'd give them a try as I was about to leave on a work trip and hoped he could have everything done by the time I returned. I just didn't have the time to take care of this myself.

I was encouraged by the great reviews and made a call to bring the system by. Vince was very friendly and I let him know I'd be by shortly. I picked up a heavy duty power supply and dropped everything off. It turns out my old graphics cards had been damaged (I suspected this too) and I got a brand new 3080ti for a major upgrade.

Vince took care of everything and had the system ready, updated with the latest drivers, and tested the next day. I picked it up when I returned and it's been humming along since then. Vince knows his stuff, is professional, trustworthy, has very reasonable prices, and a fun shop to look around if you're into computers. The only drawback for me is that we spend so much time chatting about things that I feel bad. lol But if you need to have anything computer related done, I highly recommend VInce and Pro Computers. I'll definitely be back when I upgrade to a full VR...
