Experiencing the new area for the Americana car show. We have been showing our car since 1985 in Centerville. I know that change always brings new challenges, however here is my breakdown. 1. Difficult getting parked, waiting in line causes some cars to overheat, this would be a problem for my Model T. 2. Not enough space, we enjoy putting up a tent and inviting people in. 3. Splitting the festival too much, especially families with children. 4. St. Rt. 725 will not accommodate an unusual large number of participants. 5. I have worked for many years with Tim Murphy to ensure electricity service is provided for food vendors and others. It’s important for me to put the Model T in place at 5:30 am. since we will be busy with electric service. State Route 48 provides my early access to the car show. 6. Food vendors were complaining about separating their business. Keeping the car show on St. Rt. 48 solves all the problems, can immediately park cars, plenty of room for tents, keeps the festival connected and flowing and can accommodate large numbers of cars. Read moreIn the past the parade only shut down one road into our neighborhood. This year, without giving any warning other than a post hidden in thier website they closed both and despite the fact that their website stated access would be granted in and out, they only allowed access for a short time before stopping it causing major problems for our neighborhood. The police department told us the access was shut down by the festival's request. When I talked to the director, he was rude AF and tried to act like we should be thanking them for shutting down our access and that the people unable to get chemo or get to their jobs were just whining and trying to ruin it...
