The manager was rude, not professional and needs a different job or a lot of customer service training.
I was returning a cart I had bought there a couple of weeks ago - I wanted to exchange it for a new one. Eric (I believe was his name and would have been a great manager) - very professional and helpful. Got the broken one out of my car, put a new one in and we proceeded to do the paperwork. I did have my receipt. I asked what they were going to do with the broken cart, he said, probably throw it away. I asked if I could buy it for 5 or 10 dollars to see if I could fix it. He said he'd have to ask his manager, who was not far away. She bluntly said they have to keep it for 30 days - I said OK, if it was just going to be thrown away, could I buy it. She said they didn't know what they'd do with it and walked away - very rudely. I don't think she has ever watched an ACE HARDWARE commercial about the friendly, helpful place.
She has been on the register several times I've been in the store and was never pleasant but never this rude! I only live a few blocks from this store but I don't want to shop there if she is working. I could just pass by it and go to the store one in Cross Point or just keep going and NOT shop at Ace!

Read moreLove to come across "honest" people anywhere these days. I was shopping At Hnadyman Ace on Clyo Rd recently to pick up a couple of bolts for a project I was working on. I had forgotten my wallet, but remembered I had a $20 bill stashed in the car. I grabbed it and headed into store.
I located the items needed & went to check out but when I went to pull out the $20, I didn't have it on my!! I retraced my steps back to hardware section, but no luck locating the money.
Since checkout was tied up checking people out, I decided to set my items aside & drove back home to grab the wallet & returned to store to complete my purchase. Jason was the cashier & while I didn't expect a positive response, I asked Jason if by some chance someone had found a $20 bill in the store during the previous 30 minutes or so. I explained the scenario to him & around the corner comes Wayne who asked "What did you lose?"
Sure enough Wayne had the $20 bill and he returned it to me. I offered to give him $10 for the recovery as I would have been out the entire $20, but he said no. As I said at the beginning, coming across honest people is a rarity and glad Wayne is among them. Kudos to Wayne.
Hopefully, this makes it to the store manager & owner!
Thanks...
Read moreYour employees do NOT have your best business interest at heart, that's for sure! We parked the car, got out and as we were walking to the door, there was a family entering the facility. Apparently an employee was also standing there, watching as we made our way to the door, never speaking a word to us declaring that they were closed. We of course were oblivious to the time. Anyway, we made our way to the door only to find it locked. The employee stood there staring, still saying nothing, but obviously we know they are closed. Would it have killed them to service one more customer? Especially since they let the people walking before us into the facility! Highly disappointed in this SMALL local business. With customer service like this, you are likely to go out...
