So let's go a call to prayer regarding this please! (Instead of me just complaining). I was just informed that this hospital IS short staffed. There is a doctor there clear from Arizona. He has been at Providence Centralia a month now. The hospitals from Longview to Tacoma and Morton have been slammed.
Lord, forgive me and Holy Spirit thank You for a call to prayer! Lord, I pray for ALL, the patients and the staff. I pray for Waring and Ministering Angel's. Praying for miracles and healing. Praying for Your presence and touch. You healing and love. Praying for Wisdom and Discernment, again for miracles, mercy, love and grace... As my sister has brought to my attention...
Yes call to prayer!!! The evil one is around us all and doesn't want us calling out to Jesus. Lord, be glorified and praise for all You do, I pray Forgiveness and Mercy... praying a move of God like no other! IN JESUS NAME! AMEN! A MOVE OF GOD THAT CAN NOT BE DEFEATED! lord, forgive me... I repent. Please turn all these words around for good and for blessing, all for Your glory, drawing us in to call out for You, to be closer to You and Your heart and to be covered under Your wings and healed, protected from the evil one, in Jesus Yeshua's name Amen... bring us to our 1st love, that is always going to be You. Thank You Lord. Thank You that You take what is meant for evil and turn it around for good. For all of us who know and love You I pray for Your protection but that we also use this for a time of prayer to You and thanks giving. Have Your way in us Lord always and bless all in Hospital at this time in Jesus Yeshua's name Amen
Providence hospital in Centralia, .Wa Looks like my review was erased. I took a copy of it! Just in case. If I could give it a minus I would. I've had good and bad service this was the worst. Tamara in triage was unbelievably horrible. She told me my blood sugar was 117. I just checked my chart its 177. People passing out at the front desk. Worst yet was a elderly patient who had been waiting for 12 hrs and the one that had a gash from his knee to his ankle, through all the muscle to the bone. They were all there when I left.
Copy of it...Dissapointing, sad place! Disgusted at treatment of myself and other patients. This place is horrible! Anyone that gives positive stars must have insurance that pays well, which doesn't mean it is a good hospital. It just means they give you priority. The worst last night. Especially Tamara (she wrote her name down for me so I could make a complaint) in triage(What a piece of work and disappointment). She was the worst, so unprofessional. She banged me. My bandages where hanging off & coming unwrapped because she didnt know or care to properly wrap a bandage. I had open lesions that were bleeding and the soles of my feet were hot & red, on fire. With her mouth full she can barely talk and she tells me I need a pedicure. There is lesions and dark Mark's from wounds and healing(I am dark skinned anyways). I left early without service after 5hrs. There was a sweet elderly man in a blue shirt, he been the waiting 12 hrs. One guy with a laceration from knee to ankle. At least 6 inches wide, cut through the muscles & to the bone. The intake at the desk had put gauze over it and Tamara from triage didnt even look at it and wrapped over it and made him take his tourniquet off. He said they took him in to xray his ankles and brought him back out to waiting room to bleed for several more hours. He was still waiting when I left. With a little girl playing in the waiting room bumping into patience who had been brought in by ambulance and that guy. It was a joke. Digusting. Such a disappointment. They dont deserve any pay for my visit that is for sure. Some paperwork, a blood pressure check and a diabetes check. That's it. Dont count the bandages. Oh, I forgot to mention the lady that passed out on admitting and hit her head. I have had good treatment in facilities and bad, this topped worse experience. Patients and staff need of prayer and...
Read moreI had the worst hospital experience of my life. I went to the ER at 6 PM and noticed that patients who checked in after me were being called back for their vitals first. When I complained, they claimed they had called my name, but I hadn't responded. It turned out they were calling me by my middle name, which is how I was registered.
Once they fixed that issue, I was taken back for triage. However, the setting was not private at all; staff members were walking in and out and having casual conversations while I was trying to discuss sensitive health information with the nurse. I was then sent to a bathroom in the lobby to provide a urine sample and had to bring it back through the waiting room to leave with registration, after which I had to wait again.
After another hour, I was called back to provide my financial details and then sent back to the waiting room again. While I waited, I saw patients who had arrived hours after me being called back for less serious conditions. When I asked the receptionist about this, they explained that they had 23 beds and 26 patients, so they prioritized those less likely to need to stay overnight.
Keep in mind that I was there because we suspected I had appendicitis. After another hour, I was called back for bloodwork and then returned to the waiting room. I was nearly ready to leave and find another hospital after a 45-minute wait when I heard that they were prepping a room for me. I was finally called back at 9:30 PM, and as we walked toward the room, I noticed nurses sitting and chatting, with five empty rooms available.
The nurse who saw me was nice, but the female doctor, Megan Guffey, was rough and rude. She lacked bedside manner and didn't seem to listen. After forcefully pressing on my stomach in multiple areas to find the source of my pain, she lifted my leg and struck my heel with her palm to jolt my body, asking, "Does that hurt?" I was confused because I was there for a possible appendix issue and replied, "Yes, that leg was broken eight months ago!" She then moved to my other leg and did the same thing before asking if I felt pain in my abdomen.
She said she would schedule an ultrasound and that my bloodwork looked fine before leaving the room. The nurse mentioned she would give me morphine and Zofran, and I asked for a cracker since my stomach was empty. She said she would ask and let me know, but she never returned with an answer.
After the ultrasound, which the tech was nice during, the nurse returned and asked if I needed anything. Still waiting for results, I requested a sip of water or ice chips. Once again, she said she would check and vanished. The doctor (Guffey) returned at 11:35 PM with her personal belongings, clearly preparing to leave. She said I had a small amount of fluid in my fallopian tube near my ovary and that there was nothing more they could do.
I mentioned a hard lump in my abdomen that was sore, just to the right of my belly button and below my rib. She said my labs were fine, so she had no reason to examine it. I expressed my concerns, but she insisted nothing needed further investigation, stating she would discharge me and that the nurse would come in shortly to assist with my discharge.
The nurse never arrived, and since it was midnight, I decided I had waited long enough. I got dressed, removed my own IV, and walked out to find several nurses sitting at the nursing station. When I asked about my discharge papers, they looked confused, and one nurse said, "Oh, she didn't get them yet? They're on so-and-so's desk."
I finally got my paperwork and left. I do not recommend this hospital for any emergencies--steer clear of that place!
Less than 12 hours later, I was admitted to a different hospital for an abdominal infection that was spreading rapidly. I had to be treated with four different antibiotics, three of which were administered through an IV, for 3 days!
I can only imagine where I would be right now if I hadn't sought a...
Read moreI only give one star because I canât give zero and I feel bad for the one doctor and PA whom are forced to diagnose 120 patients, all by themselves in one shift.
Honestly, I donât understand an all the years that Iâve lived in this town, why this hospital has not expanded yet.
Every time I or my mother has gone into this ER (four times over the last 25+ years) it takes hours to be seen. Yesterday my brother took our mother in because I was not available. They went to the Valley View walk-in clinic first (recommended by me, because I knew they would be waiting forever at the ER). But the walk-in clinic suspected a blood clot and sent them to the ER. I thought they would get service quicker, being sent from the walk-in clinic with suspected blood clot, but they were still there for over 14 hours! They didnât get home until 2 AM in the morning. My brother was impressed how well the staff handled the stress, being so severely understaffed, but this has been the situation for years now. and nothing is changing.
The last time I went in there with my mom about 7 years ago, her blood pressure was 264/92 according to her blood pressure machine at home. We sat in the waiting room for 8 hours, and they never even came to take her blood pressure themselves!! On top of it, they didnât even act worried. It was like they thought we were just faking it. Itâs not that hard to come and take somebodyâs blood pressure. It takes two minutes to walk over, wrap a device around my mothers arm, pump it up and take her blood pressure. But they couldnât even manage that because they were too busy.
There are plenty of people in the surrounding towns this hospital services to justify the investment of expanding this hospital by adding more equipment, better equipment, more employees, and a larger ER with more beds. Itâs ridiculous to go into a small town ER (that services multiple towns that arenât so little anymore) and have to wait in a waiting room (not even a room) for over 14 hours because thereâs 120 patients in one little tiny ER waiting for One of the few rooms and the ONE doctor or PA they have on staff.
Elderly and sick people do not have the endurance to sit in an ER waiting room for hours upon hours, waiting to be seen when they are having heart attack, stroke, and blood clot symptoms. Now my mom refuses to ever go back to this hospital. So now what am I gonna do? Sheâs out in the middle of nowhere and itâs hard enough to get her to call my brother to get her to go to the doctor. She wonât even call an ambulance because she canât afford it. If I call an ambulance for her, she will refuse service because she knows the ambulance will just take her to the ER and sheâll have to sit there for hours upon hours. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!
And the staff? What about them? How are patientâs health not being compromised when you only have one Doctor and one PA on staff servicing all 120 patients??? These physicians and nurses have to be dealing with extreme burn out!! Thereâs no way theyâre not. Iâm sorry, but whoever funds this Providence needs a wake-up call. Itâs not fair to the staff or the patients!!
What are all your taxes paying for in this little tiny town if not for decent healthcare? When is this long standing problem going to be addressed??? Ultimately it comes down to the âhigher uppersâ of this hospital neglecting the...
