I've never written a review for anything before. But my experience here prompted me to do so. I honestly wouldn't give this place ANY stars. Zero. I prefer Staples to Office Depot, but where I live , the nearest one is in the next town. So I go here to Office Depot out of convenience than quality. Every time I go, I always consider it a waste of my time because I often leave without what I came looking for. On Sunday December 10, I went to get some things. It took me a long time to find a particular item, laminating sheets, and there were no employees about to ask for help. I finally found one after an unnecessary amount of time.
Once I got to the register the clerk proceeded to ring up my merchandise which totaled $135.00. I held out my credit card about to insert it into the maxhine when all of a sudden the clerk says "the maxhine isn't working ; you can only use your card up to $35.00" I was taken aback. I had over $100 of things to buy on the counter and NOW he say a the card can't be accepted ?? He said only if I have cash. Obviously people aren't just walking around wit over a 100 bucks in their wallet. I waa so angry why had he waited until AFTER ringing me up to say that why had there been no sign on the doors alerting costumers to the issue instead of making them go through the whole process only to tell them oh sorry it's not working you can't get this. What a MONUMENTAL waste of tiime. And thjis kind of incompetence is one of the many reasons I hate this place. Needless to say I left without any of my items and will never be back. Not ever. I went to...
Read moreThe customer service at this location was extremely poor. When I entered the store and asked a question about a FedEx drop off, the staff member simply directed me to a general area without providing clear instructions. Unfortunately, there was only one staff member working at the checkout, causing a long wait time.
Upon further inquiry, I learned that I needed to print a label before dropping off my package. However, when I attempted to use the computer, the same staff member who had directed me earlier yelled at me, contradicting her previous instructions. She then ignored me while pretending to log in to the computer, leaving me feeling frustrated and confused.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience. It is important to ensure that staff members are knowledgeable about their job and are able to provide clear instructions to customers. If they are not qualified or unable to do so, it is important for them to at least show respect and empathy towards the customers they...
Read moreI've been printing our annual holiday letter at Office Depot every year until December for close to 15 years. It's just 200 color two-sided copies, pretty straightforward. I apply a corporate discount card to give me a significant discount on the total price.
After a terrible experience at the Chantilly location, I went directly to Fairfax and thankfully had a positive experience.
It was a Wednesday evening, store was quiet, 2.5 hours before closing. I walked right up with my file on a USB drive, and the Print Center employee printed my letter in under 10 minutes. She said the new corporate purchasing card rate is a flat 30% off, which is something new for 2023 and double what I paid last year per my receipt, but that's not on her. I thanked the woman profusely for handling my print job immediately and alleviating some of my holiday stress, especially after what I encountered at the Chantilly location.
I'll be taking my business to Fairfax...
