NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MARTY WRIGHT TO ANY BUYER LOOKING FOR A HOME!!!! My experience with Marty Wright Home Sales for a new manufactured home has been a nightmare from start to still not finished. We paid the down payment for the purchase of our home in September 2024, since the closing was pushed several times—first in October, then after Christmas, in February, and again in April. WE CLOSED MAY 2025!! Then the delivery and setup were plagued by incompetence and delays, and from the home we have seen so far, the quality of the product is a serious disappointment for the purchase price. First, the original promised completion date was pushed back by more than three months with no clear communication. Our sales representative, Victor/Destiny, repeatedly gave us false timelines, and it was nearly impossible to get a straight answer on our home's status. Then we were transferred from Lumberton sales to Chadbourn sales due to the sales representative Destiny changing positions to Chadbourn, which has not gotten better because Destiny quit, and now we’re still in limbo a year later. If all of this isn’t bad enough that their product doesn’t meet their promise of quality, the manufacturer, Sunshine, has failed to hold their responsibility to complete construction. Their excuse… their construction crew is comprised of Hispanics to complete the interior and siding of the home. The Hispanics are afraid to come to NC due to ICE and therefore can’t complete construction of our home. Their employee issues are not the buyer’s problem!!! TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEE ISSUES!!! Although it has been delivered, it still sits there empty and incomplete. This buying experience has truly been a nightmare from start to still not finished. And we haven’t even made it to the punch list. I can’t imagine the support being much better than the service we’ve received to this point. If I had it all to do over, I would never have chosen Marty Wright. They talk a good game but don’t follow up! Marty Wright has not offered any compensation of good will to this point… only to say YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EXTRA COST INCURRED!!! THEIR FAULT OR NOT… IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE A SMOOTH BUYING TRANSITION! THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED!!!! YES, I WILL UPDATE THIS POST TO SHARE THE ENDING OF THIS BUYING EXPERIENCE NIGHTMARE!!!! NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MARTY WRIGHT TO ANY BUYER LOOKING...
Read moreMarty Wright may have better looking homes than most mobile homes dealers but that is about all they have
-The homes are way higher -They didn’t prep our land before placing the home on the land, we had to do that ourselves -They don’t pour concrete driveways, we had to figure that out ourselves which is strange because we called two other dealers for Marty right that said drive ways we’re included in the package deal
My husband and I had to go talk to the county about water taps OURSELVES so we thought until we got there to do the application and the lady told us that the dealer does all this so why were we doing it ? ( Red flag number 20) They are horrible at following up and letting you know what’s going on with the process you have to constantly call and text and sometimes no response for days
I have documentation to back up everything I’ve stated
The whole process dealing with them was pure hell
Most people say underwriting is the headache but our underwriting processes with 21st mortgage was smooth it was just dealing with Marty wright and staff where the problems are
I live near a Clayton homes dealer and should have used them
They offer land clearing and basic landscaping, also offer a driveway and sidewalk and wider steps
It’s been 6 months since the start of the process and the home still hasn’t been set up completely yet .. it’s put together but the inside is still incomplete
We sometimes wish we would have went another direction and can only hope and pray that we don’t have any problems once we move in the home smh
Application Date: Feb 18 2022 Approval feb 22 All funds submitted 4/2022 All documents sent in by me because Marty wright had the most computer and email issues and 21st kept calling saying they didn’t receive documentation June 2022 house finally pulled out
It’s July 28th the home is still not ready and the inside is incomplete
July 27th was told that they don’t do driveways
We were also told that don’t do basic landscaping at the beginning and we had to find someone and pay someone to cut the grass at the beginning which Marty wright in laurel hill and bennestteville said that...

We bought our mobile home a year ago with Marthy Wright. The sales process was quick, but many important details were not provided, which we now know should have been shared and omitted.
After ordering the house, we were given a delivery date of November 2023. It was our first time buying a mobile home, and they never explained the process to us; their communication with the customer was non-existent. When November arrived and no one contacted us, my husband decided to call, and it turned out that the person who had sold us the house no longer worked there. We had to deal with another person who informed us that the factory was delayed and that they would probably deliver it in December. I reiterate that we had to call to request information, we never received calls from them for notifications about the order status.
January arrived, and the house had still not been delivered. Finally, the house was delivered on February 2nd, and we started the paperwork with the county, which was their responsibility, and the house setup. Our house was finally delivered to us in mid-June 2024. During those months, we were the ones who were even following up with the county, as it was very evident that Donnie, the person in charge of setting up our house, was very negligent. We had to stay on top of him every day, asking for updates on the setup progress.
When we finally got the permits, we could go to the electric company to turn on the power, a process that took another 30 days. When we contacted Donnie, it turned out that he had been fired for his poor job performance, and we had to deal with a new employee who finally handed over the house to us.
The house turned out to be defective: the doors would not close, the air conditioning unit did not work properly, and there were aesthetic errors, broken siding panels, and visible screws on the roof. We reported these defects to the company, and they sent someone with a finish gun who only filled the walls with nails. The air conditioning unit issue has still not been resolved, and none of the defects have...
