Had a spare key made for our home to have on hand while getting home work done before our first baby was born. Came home one night and used the new spare key we got and it got stuck in the lock.
My 35 week pregnant wife at the time tried pulling the key out and it broke in half.
I had to travel for work but called Ace and finally got a hold of the GM and he said he thought I was lying and the only way they’d cover it is if the key was defective. I told him that we just want the cost of fixing the lock which is $60 to be covered by Ace. He said he didn’t trust me and that Ace would not be covering anything without us paying out of pocket and then MAYBE they would cover it if it was defective.
The locksmith we have used before even told us that he sees the most problems with keys made by Ace in general. I told the GM this and he got really upset at me. It was really bad customer service and worst part is that he knows who we are and has known my mother in law for years but didn’t seem to care.
It felt like Ace immediately dismissed our problem and only wanted it to be their way. I’ve been going to Ace since I was a kid but literally am done with Ace as a company because of this incident.
What key breaks in half if it’s not defective? Especially if we’ve had plenty of spare keys made before and they didn’t break ever.
Maybe management at Ace can develop some compassion for the next first time parents that call with an issue and be treated differently...
Read moreI will not use them to sharpen blades ever again! I dropped off 2 chainsaw blades that needed a light honing after a week of cutting allot of trees (including some Ironwood). These were new blades and this would be their first sharpening. When I picked them up the blades were blue from overheating and had huge curling burrs off the side edges. The lead person said they'd have the manager take a look and see what they could do. I was called and told I could pick them up, there would be no charge for them, but all they could do was remove the burrs. I just tried to using these "sharpened" blades on a pine tree. It took over 10 minutes to cut a wedge and a back-cut on a 12" Pine tree. I then put a NEW blade on and put a clean cut on the stump in 5 second. And then cut off all the limbs, and cut the 35' trunk into 24" sections in less than 10 minutes. I wanted to extend the life of my blades and have them sharpened properly, but instead they destroyed my blades and it cost me over $65 to...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED TERRIBLY. We came in to buy an EGO lawnmower, we were helped out by a younger gentleman who was very nice and helpful. Upon getting to the register to check out we noticed the lawn mower we were about to buy was a completely different model number than what was being sold. The younger gentleman found out it was the wrong one also and trying to help solve the issue. And then some older mid 60’s guy in a cap started to act like he knows it all and kept trying to tell us it was the right one and trying to get us to buy an older model EGO lawnmower for the price of the new one online we were looking for, when we kept trying to explain it was the wrong one nicely to him he said something incredibly rude under his breath. THEY TRIED TO SCAM US FOR AN OLDER MODEL. Will never return here again and I hope no one else gets scammed here. Absolute garbage of a store and...
