I am not trying to be negative or attack this organization in any way with this review. I simply would like to report the failure to communicate procedures cleary when requesting documentation from students by an admissions counselors. I have been involved with this college for less than a week and it is my first time enrolling into any college by myself. I am unfamiliar with the process of providing transcripts to a college facility and did not know that documents had to be sent directly to the school from the issuing institution, that students were not allowed to bring them in personally. When I was waiting to take my placement test an admissions counselor came over to me and informed me that a a copy of my G.E.D would be required eventually, and that's all he said. I took my test, went home and ordered a copy promptly. I had it overnighted and spent almost 90$ just to have this piece of paper to prove I had it for this college. When I received it I was excited to continue the process of enrollment and first thing I did was drive to the campus to provide my documentation. All they could tell me is sorry we cannot accept that, they didn't even need it yet and when it is required to next time send it directly to the campus because they cannot accept transcripts directly from a student. So after I had just lost 90$ at the request of one of their admissions counselors they expect me to spend another 40$ to have it sent directly to them. I spoke to the manager and she ensured me she would talk to the person who didn't explain the procedure properly and yet somehow tried to assert that I didn't need to overnight it by trying to shift accountability onto me for my own loss. I only wanted to comply with any requests from the admissions team to complete the process for starting school. If I would've known the procedure or even had been aware there was one for provididng specific documentation such as G.E.D transcripts I would've...
Read moreThey make registering for classes a giant pain in the you know what. I only wanted to register for a non credit summer program, mostly just to do it with friends that were teaching it and participating. I was told to do it online only to find out I couldn't do it online because I wasn't "officially a student". That I can understand, but I was told to register over the phone. I tried to do that. I had my student ID they gave me, as well as my class number (which was all I would need according to the site). Well, I found out that because it is a non-credit class I would need to do a special registration for that. Turns out the "special" registration was the one I already did. The guy on the phone after didn't try to help really just said to either come in or search for application for non credit. I asked for a specific link and he wouldn't give it to me (I have no idea why), just kept telling me to search and I would find it. I tried google and the search bar on the site...nothing. I ended up having to leave work early (From North Scottsdale mind you) just to register. Honestly, I would never have gone through this trouble if I wasn't supporting a friend. I've had way easier and better experiences doing my Bachelor's and Master's programs. You'd think community colleges would be an easier experience. Guess...
Read moreAs far as an education, it’s definitely not the worst place to go to school. The quality is pretty good and with smaller class sizes you can interact with your professors fairly easily. You encounter the occasionally moody and arrogant professor, but it’s college. They offer free parking as well which is definitely a plus
However, the experience isn’t necessarily the best. They sign up process is horrid and the service staff is extremely hard to work with. I was an honor student at this organization and had the pleasure of almost getting my status revoked twice by a staff error in paper work. Literal nightmare. It was the biggest hassle to have them go through and correct their error to get my status reinstated. You have to micromanage them to make sure anything gets done. I’m definitely glad to be rid of the organization and leave it behind.
To sum it up: Pros: Very Affordable, quality classes, easy to test into a scholarship. Cons: Terrible customer service and takes forever to get back to you for a school this small. Prepare to hound them if you experience any issue in paperwork and trust me, you will.
