So far, so good. Customer service has been top-notch and answers the phone in record time. I can honestly see why they have such high ratings. I am anxiously awaiting the install of the fiber to my home.
We have waited a very long time for this to come here and now it is finally almost here now. I am like a kid in a candy store about to enter. I have been in IT since 1989 and I fully understand the usefulness of fiber. I was just about to leave spectrum and get starlink and the day I was about to pull the trigger and order it I saw the guys laying the wires for the fiber optics and that put the brakes on that order really fast.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have the services available from united. With a company with this good of a reputation I know I'm going to love on them.
I will update if anything goes array.
Update: 4/11/24. I am very, very pleased to say that we now have superfast internet in our home and the difference between cable and this companies fiber is just not able to be described. The ping times to the just the shear raw speed is incredible. If you have cable? And you are thinking about switching to this company I can assure you, you won't regret the move. I am completely ecstatic with my service now.
Thank you United Communications for our service.
These photos of the speeds are on our Velop MX4200 C wireless mesh. Try these speeds on cable internet. Simply not happening.
UPDATE: May 3rd 2024 Almost a month of service so far this has been our honest experience.
We are an entire family of IT and all in one household.
(Most of us are Government Contractors)
We waited for over 3, long and very painful years for your fiber optics to be installed on our road. Having Spectrum previously was nauseating to say the least. Being limited severely on upload versus downloads not to mention the ping times and lag / jitter to say that it totally left a lot to be desired would be an understatement. We are all completely thrilled with every single aspect of United Communications.
From the platinum level service of the customer service to the performance of the product we have enjoyed of 1 gig uploads and downloads. United Communications has demonstrated to us to be a fantastic company.
I hope they don't ever sellout to a larger corporation. The experience we have had has truly been impeccable.
Please continue the great work you all do to keep this company exceeding our expectations as you have so perfectly done to date with us.

This internet service has been outstanding in every way imaginable. Super fast, dependable, and just what I need in my daily use of the web. The customer service is also top-notch. Couldn't ask for a better service provider. No data caps and just...
Read moreDeceitful salesman bait & switched us out of $600. Now we are stuck with United.
A couple months ago United Communications brought their fiber optic to our street. Since we live in rural area, I was genuinely.
For background, I am a disabled veteran and a university student, therefore I qualify for the ACP program. With Verizon, my (then) current internet service provider, my internet cost was $5/month and it was great quality.
When the United salesman approached me with their service options, I told him that I was participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and would ONLY consider switching service providers if we could apply the ACP benefit to United Communications. He informed me that his company was participating in the program and that with the ACP benefit applied, United internet would cost $20/month instead of $50/month. For an additional $15/month I was happy to switch to fiber optic. So, standing on my front porch, the salesman took my credit card, my ACP information and signed me up for autopay. This was end of December.
A few weeks ago, I get the January internet bill (odd because of autopay) and to my surprise it is $50. I assume that little a mistake was made since $20 was expected, so I call the United customer service line where a nice woman in the office informs me that I am in-fact NOT part of the ACP program with United. Additionally, the company is no longer taking ACP applications - starting that very week!
She also informed me that my credit card and other information was entered into their system (from the front porch sign-up) by their salesman but for some reason it was not finalized.
To be specific: my ACP application was renewed on Dec 22nd, my United internet service began on Dec 28th. Their salesman screwed up. As an added bonus, I was informed me that in two months, my bill was about to go UP to $60 a month from $50.
After activating United internet, I cancelled my Verizon services and now due to areas limits, I can no longer reactivate my previous Verizon internet - locking me in to United.
So instead of keeping my Verizon internet at $5/month, I am now stuck with United internet at $60/month. The failure of attention to detail or outright deceitfulness of their salesman will cost me over $660 this...
Read moreUpdated from 2025: United's customer service is a breath of fresh air, ESPECIALLY in this day and age of large corporations sucking the life out of and attempting to maximize profit at every step. No weird gotchas, no 30 minute phone tree, everyone I ever talk to (about scheduling, questions, services, etc) is always on point. It never feels like they're trying to rush through and hit some volume of calls per unit of time threshold.
What the culture looks to be from the outside looking in, all companies should try to replicate. Jessica today was fantastic from the technical side of the phone tree, even though I lumped a handful of questions together that she could have justified lobbing over to another department, she answered all of them, and then prepped Prani to confirm some stuff so that my transfer to the billing department was lightning fast and efficient.
I was a fixed wireless customer before and just changed to Fiber. I was already recommending United from my previous experiences with the team; there's no stopping me. I hop off these calls actually energized instead of drained like if I was to call in about my cell phone to Verizon, or my laptop to Dell for example.
Original Review from 2022: I am a fixed wireless customer. I was worried about moving out to an area where there is no broadband, being a remote worker it is a non negotiable part of my job to be available for video conferencing. I saw the advertised speeds and was holding my breath until I had service, but it hits the advertised numbers, is more than sufficient for running zoom calls and I sometimes have better bandwidth than my colleagues with a landline.
Would recommend to anyone who's...
