Las Fiestas — Restaurant in Chapel Hill

I would have given it a 0 rating because we ordered 2 fajitas Jalisco mixed and 2 Taco salads with ground beef. When we got it home I was very very very disappointed in the food. The fajitas Jalisco was plum puckie looking because it looked like the shrimp and the chicken wasn't even cooked properly. The onions and bell peppers was even hard to the touch. I called them and a girl got on their saying she was the assistant manager and she said ma'am I'm sorry but we use a temperature thermometer to be sure it was to temperature. I said ma'am I am going to have to take and recook it in my oven to make sure it's cooked. She said I just don't know what to tell you the cook told her that it was cooked at the temperature.I was very very very disappointed in her solution to this because she hung up on me and that was it. I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER GO BACK TO THAT PLACE AGAIN. I EVEN TOLD HER I TOOK A PICTURES OF IT AND I CAN SEND IT TO HER PHONE AND SHE WASN'T GOING TO HAVE THAT. IT WAS NASTY LOOKING AND THE MEAT WAS LIKE A RAW TEXTURE TO IT. I'M VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HER ATTITUDE!! I was traveling from DFW and stopped by this little gem. I enjoyed having a quiet meal with beautiful art filled walls in the bar area. I was able to relax and enjoy a marg on the rocks with chips and salsa. A nice change from the fast pace where I live. The waiter was courteous and allowed me to peruse the menu. It was lunch and I ordered the chicken fajitas. Flavor was good. I ordered a side of pickled jalapeños and as always a little extra salt and pepper. The meat was cooked perfect for me. I did ask for pinto beans but there may have been a mistake as I received refried beans. They were pretty good but not a personal fan of refried. Chips were light and crispy. Salsa was full bodied and not too liquified. Tortillas were warm and large in size. Healthy portions so took a box to go. Everyone was friendly. The bathroom was clean which always tells me a little about the restaurant. Would definitely return when back...

Sad thing is food was reasonably good. Service was subpar. I never eat at a restaurant and not leave a decent to good tip. When I left I did not leave any tip at all. We were there for a ball tournament and had a break between games so we were there with a large group. It’s was my wife’s birthday so some of the party told the restaurant so they could could do the birthday thing. Apparently part of their birthday party is to smear whip cream all over the birthday guests face. I was appalled as well she was. Very unprofessional and I am amazed I left without a huge scene.
