Riley (I hope I spelled your name correctly 😉) made use feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. We were early for our appointment because of the weather. It was snowing and so we had given ourselves extra time to arrive in Charles City. Riley immediately took us to the Prom Shop and directed us to the area of the shop where we should be looking for dresses. She made very helpful suggestions about color, style, fit, dress and fabric weight, etc. She helped us pick out about 7 dresses to begin with. Riley then directed us to the bridal suite. Elizabeth was beeming from ear to ear. She felt like royalty. With every dress, Riley gave her honest opinion, which really helped. She was very intuned to Elizabeth and her taste in dresses and what she was looking for. Riley made a couple of trips back to the Prom Shop for more dresses based on what Elizabeth had chosen in the beginning. In the end, Elizabeth chose the first dress that she had picked. From there, Riley helped her to choose earrings and a bracelet to compliment her dress. Riley was very professional and positive throughout the entire experience. She made Elizabeth feel like the most important person in the world on Sunday. Riley's attitude rubbed off on all of us. Will we be coming back next year to purchase Elizabeth's senior prom dress? Mara gave me hopes on finding my wedding dress. I have went to one bridal store before them and felt very discouraged when I didn’t find my dress. I struggled with finding a dress my size. At MARA, I picked about 5 dresses on my own that I “envisioned I would get married in” they all looked fine but I wasn’t in love. They didn’t fit on my hips. I felt very discouraged. The woman who helped me ( I feel terrible for forgetting her name) she had dirty blonde hair, very tall and a beautiful smile. She asked if she could pick a few dresses for me. I agreed, she brought them back and I thought to myself, these dresses aren’t for me but I would still try them on. To my surprise, every dress this young lady chose for me I loved. I remember thinking “this is too simple for me” when I saw my “yes” dress. I put it on and fell absolutely in love. The ladies there definitely know what they’re doing, they know what looks good, they know what will fit you and they will sit there and be patient with you. I spent 4 hours at MARA and it felt like 20 minutes. I am so pleased with my experience at MARA, they are great at what they do and I highly recommend finding your perfect dress here. My daughter and I went to Mara to purchase her prom dress a couple of weeks ago. As we walked in I introduced my daughter to the owner and her assistant. After letting them know why we were there, one of the ladies asked what size my daughter was. When I told them we didn't know for sure the shop owner threw up her arms, walked away. I asked, "Can you measure her?" By this time I would have just left and taken my daughter somewhere else on a different day if I had not promised her that we would go dress shopping that afternoon. The assistant, Kayla, was extremely helpful finding my daughter's size and dresses. The owner, at this time was nowhere to be found, having walked acrossthe drive andinto her house. With Kayla's help we found and purchased a beautiful dress for prom. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping there for my youngest two daughter's prom dresses. If it weren't for Kayla, I would not have purchased a dress from Mara that day. She was the only person in the shop who was never rude. NICE MATTERS.
