Compass Hardware — Local services in Charlestown

I have purchased many things from Compass over the years because they are close to my home BUT NO MORE. The owner has to be one of the rudest people. Sometimes he's nice and other times nasty. Could not believe the experience I just had. Needed some helping selecting some electrical boxes and he was upset that he had to walk 5 steps from his office to the isle where the electrical boxes were located. I needed some help and asked him a few times if he could grab more gang boxes as I was standing at the front counter with the cashier but he got upset that I had asked him if he could grab more items. Literally he's 5 steps and I was unsure what to grab. Here you have a small business that I am looking to support instead of the big box stores and willing to ALWAYS pay more to support such businesses and this guy gives me the worse attitude I have ever experienced. The gentlemen at the cash register very nice but the owner a complete jerk (I am assuming the guy with the shaved head is the owner, my bad if he is not). He should learn something from his employee. Go To JERRY'S HARDWARE, these people appreciate your business and are super friendly and helpful. Also I never write reviews, this has to be the very first review I have ever written and I have had bad experiences before but not worth my time to complain but in this instance I had to share...

Two weeks to fix a screen in a door????? Pre-paid. Was NEVER told that. His reply was “come get your door and I’ll reimburse you There was a big job before yours. The screen person has Lyme disease.” . EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES. I am a small business owner and would be bankrupt in a month if I spoke to my clients the way this guy spoke to me. Rude, indignant and could not have been more unpleasant . We’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this place. That ends now....

Not very customer friendly. Stopped to get2 small pieces of window glass cut and what should have taken no more then 5 minutes to accomplish, I was told it would take 2 hours.
